Advantages Advantages Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, great food

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Horrendous bar prices

I stay at the IBIS Earls court about 4 or 5 times a year as i occasionally work in London. It is a big, grey building and maybe does not look that appealing from the ouside, but read on and i will explain why it is well worth staying at, whether you are in London for business or pleasure... The exterior As i mentioned, the IBIS is a little drab looking on the outside. The grey building would not appear to appealing on a rainy January day. There are a set of revolving doors at the front (be careful if you have had too much wine!) and a large car park to the rear. The reception area The first ... more

this is such a great hotel, and one of my favourites when i am travelling to london. it is located directly in the centre of central london, and is close to all of the major tourist attractions including the west end and the london eye just to name a few. the hotel staff are especailly great, extremely poliet and helpful, and are always willing an answer any questions. in fact, i think there are some who speak other languages. the cleanliness of this hotel is brilliant, which is fantastic, and the rooms are execptional. complete with large beds, and a tv, some rooms have en-suites. there are ... more

    Advantages Advantages price, modern bathroom

Disadvantages Disadvantages general state of repair and cleanliness, staff language barriers

We stayed here for one night in October 2007. Like other reviewers I chose it for its prices and proximity to places in London we needed to be. When you first get to the Ibis you are presented with an oppressing concrete box (although it was raining which didn't help its image...). You head across the rather tired looking foyer to a desk manned by (on our visit) staff who's English wasn't the best. After 25 minutes watching the receptionist look rather confused, tutting and asking us the same questions repeatedly (the lady had apparently no idea how to process booking which had been done ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheaper

Disadvantages Disadvantages food and facility not good

I did make the mistake of choosing to stay at the Ibis in Docklands Excel in London. Its definately not an experience I would like to repeat. We choose the hotel for the price, located on the Docklands Light Railway line we thought it was a bargin, but what a mistake. The food served, evening meal and breakfast is without a doubt some of the worst I have eaten. The choice was poor and the food selected was tasteless. The room was okay, but it was impossible to sleep through the noise of the nearby service lift. Maybe this was just a one off, I have stayed in Ibis hotels in France and they ... more

I arrived at the Ibis Hotel on March 14 on business. I was staying until macrh 19. On my second day I awoke to 15 bed bugs under my pillow and inside my bed. I jumped out the bed and inmediatley called reception to change my room. The room was changed quickly enough although i did not receive an apology from the satff or any help moving my bags from my room to reception and uo to my new room. My second room was near the smokers floor and although i am a smoker myself I dont apreciate waking up to the smell of tobacco in the morning. I decided to put it down to experience and just get on wih it ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap and cheerful, well located for rail travel

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some rooms need upgrading. The breakfast isn't as good as it used to be...

Well I've stayed here a few times (I reckon 8) and I always come back due to it's consistency. The hotel is well located for local conferences at Earls Court or Olympia, so ideal for the business traveller. It's not the Park Lane, but its not a Travelodge either- its a 2 Star rated hotel, and you get what you pay for. Ive written previous reviews, so I wont go into detail here, but the only slight issue I had this time was that the quality of breakfast seems to have gone downhill. The sausages tasted cheap, and the bacon was very poor. The staff are always fine (there are still some that have ... more
