    I've been to Ifrane about 3 years ago. One of the first things you'll notice, at least if you have been in the rest of Morocco as well, is that houses have ROOFS! You won't find this in the rest of Morocco. It seems very stupid but when you go to tens of other cities you'll see all kinds of houses in similar styles perhaps different colours but no roofs and then you come to this city. The roofs have to do with the climate. Ifrane is a very cool (read: temperature!) place to be.     I spent 1 night in the campsite in Ifrane in the middle of August. This was not a brilliant idea. Ifrane was built by the French as a ski resort, so it has a very European feel to the buildings and layout. The coolness of the place was very pleasant after the heat of the plains. However in August Moroccans camp out here and the campsite was very crowded, and not too hygienic, and expensive for just a tent and car. The place seemed very odd to me not Moroccan at all, I would recommend the town for its novelty value but that is about all. Try the campsite at Meknes instead. ... more
