Advantages: Cheap in parts, Great beaches Disadvantages: Hawkers, Long Flight
BALI AND NUSA DUA, KUTA
I went to Bali in September 2002 and we stayed in the tourist region of Nusa Dua, which is only about 15 minute drive from DENPASAR, Kuta Airport. The hotel we stayed at was called Melia Bali which is one of the top hotels on the Island. Before I tell you more about my experience here I would like to tell you all about the VOA which stands for Visa on Arrival and you will have to pay for this on arrival and is available to ... ...Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
People of these countries above will be able to apply for a VOA, which is valid for either 3 or 30 days upon arrival by air in Bali, Jakarta and a few other international airports or by ship at a limited number of Indonesian seaports. A 3-day visa costs £5.50 and a 30-day ...

Advantages: All the Luxuries of a Western 5 Star Hotel Disadvantages: Not Quite the 'Real' Bali
...the poverty which prevails in Indonesia generally, and quite a successful attempt at that. In short, it felt very Westernized. If I hadn't had a chance to see other parts of the island, I would have missed out on experiencing a beautifully unique and hospitable culture in its natural environment. I definitely recommend hiring a car and seeing the rest of Bali, too!
That said, it was wonderful to enjoy such luxury, and the Balinese-Western hybrid ...

Advantages: PARADISE FOUND Disadvantages: A LITTLE REMOTE FROM THE "REAL BALI"
My husband and I won a trip to Bali worth £2,000 and, after choosing our dates, the Melia Bali hotel was offered to us for 11 nights. We've never stayed 5* before, so I'm sure you can understand how excited we were when we finally arrived in Nusa Dua, to see our hotel. Well, we weren't disappointed. The drive went past palm trees and fountains, and when we pulled up outside the hotel, a beautifully dressed young woman leapt forward to open the door ... ...area where we were given a cocktail and cold towels to refresh ourselves. The room was a good size, the balcony was large, and the bathroom had all you could want, including bottled water. The public areas were all built in Balinese style - no walls, and no ceilings, just very high rooves, designed to allow plenty of air flow. The swimming pool was enormous, and there was also a beach which was cleaned twice a day. There was also a spa which was ...

Advantages: Standard of the hotel, facilities, pool, beach Disadvantages: cost
Well if you are lucky enough to be able to afford to stay in this hotel, you won't be disappointed. Set in landscaped gardens this really is paradise. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly and the setting is perfect. The pool is so big that i challenge anyone to to get it in one photo! The gardens roll onto the private beach where you won't be hassled by sellers when you are trying to relax. The food in the restaurants are out of this ... ...also in price. Ther are plenty of local restaurants to visit only a short stroll away from the hotel confines - if you can bear to leave! The rooms are delightful, with marble bathrooms and a bowl of fresh fruit every day. The hotel offers many excursions around the island, although these can again all be costly so decide carefully which ones you most want to do. All in all, a real relaxing holiday in a gorgeous setting that could not be critised. ...

Advantages: awesome watersport Disadvantages: too quiet at evening
Nusa Dua area is great place for watersport. Here you can easily jump to the water for diving (even not the best choice compare to Bunaken), snorkling, kayaking, jet ski, banana boat, windsurfing, etc.
This area is more quiet than Kuta, so if you like to have party and clubhopping, this is not the right place.
Nusa Dua offers you quiet environment with many nice hotels there. Great place for honeymoon and in the opposite, if you travel alone its ...
