JD Wetherspoons (Leeds)

...I had a stake in JD Wetherspoons. This pub chain is going nowhere but up. They`ve got everything right. I`ve been to Wetherspoon's in Leeds, Liverpool and Bradford. They are a chain but each pub is of different character. This is their best asset as most chains are sickening and I avoid them like the plague (you know the ones with a 'cute' bear in the logo and that have a bouncy castle around the back so the kids can fight peacefully while you get ...
...at the typical low, low JD prices. I`ll go soon and update the opinion. The JDs in Bradford (near the bus station, towards the film museum) is large. It feels circular with tables all around the outside and a fire nestled in the interior tables. Theres an upstairs balcony that reaches around every wall and is also well furnished with tables. JD Wetherspoon - the upstanding bastion for fellow drinkers everywhere - bringing cheap booze to the masses in a uncomplicated, no nonsense fashion. No music, just good food, good drink and good company. At least that's the theory. Weatherspoons in Leeds station has to at the moment be rated as Fantastic. The Management are first rate the duty managers and staff are friendly and work extremely hard. Theres rarely any real trouble but with BTP just over the road it soon gets sorted out. The pub has a real nice atmosphere and is full of all sorts of Characters has a rather large group of Regulars who make everyone feel welcome (between their indiviual domestic tantrums). Worth a visit if you are in Leeds and fancy a quick drink between trains just dont take everything everyone says as the truth. Rather surprizingly the talent that passes through here is top draw which is unusual for a station pub. ...

As with all wetherspoons this pub isn't really very different. However, I've never been in a bar that contained so many trouble causers, and thats men aswell as women, who have drunk themselves silly because of the cheapness! I would really recommend wandering a couple of metres down greek street away from this place and check out some of the bars that have 2-for-1 offers on during the week (e.g. quid pro quo). You'll probably end up paying around ...
...you'll get better clientele, food, music and cosier seating, friendlier staff and just generally better surroundings. It's so bright in this pub right up until closing time that you feel like your at the blackpool illuminations! I don't really know how to put into specific words why I just don't like this place, but i think you get the jist ...
