...to Florida last year and JMC was the company we chose. I had never been abroad before let alone on a plane and, as you can imagine very nervous. To top things off i was six months pregnant and not looking forward to the seven hour flight.
When we arrived at Gatwick at around six thirty (am) we went straight over to check in. As we arrived at the check in desk a member of JMC staff informed us there was a problem with our plane and we had two choices, ... ...holiday.

THE FLIGHT Upon boarding the plane, an Airbus A320, we found we were on the very last seats at the back of the plane (oh well I suppose we were in good company with the black box), the leg room was very poor, for my 6'2" partner and I had to swap seats with my daughter as mine was broken, and probably would not have withstood my light, ... ...not check in, as the JMC rep could not tell us either when the check-in desk would be open, or where we would be checking in. ...back from Ibiza on a JMC flight into Gatwick Airport and after reading other opinions in this category l must admit my experiences seem to go some what against the grain of popular opinion!! Im from Belfast and there was a severe lack of cheapie holidays so we decided we'll fly from Gatwick and get a connecting flight over (thank god for low cost airlines!). To be honest l had never heard of JMC before this experience so l was a blank sheet so to ... ...to be! Finding the JMC zone in Gatwick was incredibly easy - there was easily 10 to 15 check-in desks flying to various destinations over the world. Pre-bookable seats were available at a nominal charge.

JMC are a collection of different companies, merged in the recent past, and are now collectively under the JMC umbrella. JMC is now a very large company, and is "unravelling the package holiday piece by piece" according to the adverts. ...time I have flown with JMC and having read other opinions before going I was surprised at the quality of service I received. I didn't have high expectations, after all JMC airlines are only a package operator not a real commercial airline, but in comparison to other package flights I've had they were excellent. ~~~ Check In ~~~ I was very impressed with the JMC check in service at Gatwick, to be honest I've never seen a better system in operation ... ...JMC check in desks which were situated together in a cordoned off area. Before queuing for a desk a JMC staff member looks at your tickets and tells you which desk to go to. The desks are all checking people in from different flights so queuing is minimised. When we booked the holiday the travel agent asked if we wanted to pre-book our seats, as there was a charge for this I declined. The travel agent advised me that without pre-booking we may end ...

...OP on Ciao, which rated JMC pretty good, but I did notice that there were others with only one star rating. I decided not to read these, as it would put me off! My biggest concerns were cramped seats and flight delays.
The dates we could go were fairly limited, and for this reason I had to go from Manchester, although Glasgow is actually my closest international airport. Manchester was a reasonable second choice, as we have family we could overnight ... ...to each other about various JMC policies and procedures (nothing too horrendous, just typical work place gripes). However I don’t think the time to be doing this is in front of your customers!
All in all, the experience was satisfactory; after all I do realise that the demand for cheaper holidays does force airlines to cramp in seats. I hope this practice changes through time. ...

I went on a JMC holiday to Kavos, in Corfu, last summer, as a last minute booking. As a relatively large company, I was pleased that the booking was made with them. Although the holiday itself was very good, not that I can remember much of it (alcohol to blame), the flights left a lot to be desired. The simple fact of the matter is that this airline goes for exonomy in every sense of the word. I will come to that a little later, after the few advantages ... ...time. As a last resort, JMC should be an option because the holiday as a whole, including the flight dservice, was very good, with very few complaints. Especially for the elder members of the public, and those with any medical conditions, especially heart defects, it might be wise to avoid the JMC flights. At least an aisle seat would be appropriate so you can still freely go for a short walk alone the plane aisle. I got pins and needles in my toes ...

...(ATH) in Greece on a JMC Boeing 757 aircraft in 1999. The flight was quite long at around 3 hours which emphasised the cramped seating arrangements. The food was very poor, one of my worst experiences of airline food to date. However, I recieved a complimentary english newspaper on the return flight - a rarity on most package airlines which was quite good. The cabin crew were kind and helpful and willingly arranged for me to visit the flight deck ...

...have only flown once with JMC and to be quite honest I really wouldn't want to go with them again. My girlfriend and myself flew to the Dominican Republic last year for christmas. It was the 1st long haul flight I had been on in around 10 years. We got away on time so I was quite pleased about that and yet again, as what always happens when I fly, we end up over the wing....so no view for us. Anyway we got settled in our cramped little seats which ... ...and waited for our breakfast. Now the food on here was not too good at all. Breakfast consisted of - sloppy scrambled egg a crispy piece of bacon 10 baked beans (slight exageration) 1 tiny sausage 1 hard bread roll tea or coffee what made things worse for me was that the pull down tray from the seat in front was broken. It was on an agle facing myself so everytime the plane hit any small amount of turbulance my whole food tray almost ended up on ...

I flew to Turkey with JMC in 2002 and it was nothing above dire!
The flight was four hours of cramped up seating, plastic staff and the landing to end all landings. I even wondered if we would arrive at all.
JMC seemed like a good choice, no-one had ever given any bad opinions of them, their marketing is quirky and all their on board document are bright and eye chathcing, their unifrom is very modern and they are cheap. This facade is for a good ... ...booking a holiday to Spain. JMC have the only hotel sleft in the town I want to stay so i think give them the benefit of the doubt - stupid me!
Different problems, same terrible service!
On the way to the airport from resort we were collectd by the JMc coach and our luggage was put into the hold under the coach. Travelling down a Dual Carraigeway the door flew open and everyones case went flying across the lanes so the coach driver when alerted ...

When I flew with JMC I found that the service I received on the flight was well below average, but bearable as it was only a short flight. However, I expected no better on my return flight, but wasn’t pleased when it became worse. I found the flight attendants were not very helpful, and when I buzzed for assistance, it was 2-3 minutes before anyone came. My problem of broken headphones was not sorted out very politely and I was made to feel quite ... ...my girlfriend had booked a vegetarian meal, although she’s not vegetarian but doesn’t like the food you receive and has found this kind of meal nicer, and when she told one of the flight attendants this there was apparently no record of any vegetarian meals required on this flight. My girlfriends’ mother booked our holiday, so I don’t see how it could be wrong! The flights both there and back from our holiday were filled with time to ourselves as ...

JMC may be unwrapping the holiday package, but they ain't doing anything for the flight to get you there.
We flew recently with JMC. They kept us at the gate for over an hour. When we finally boarded the plane, they told us we had boarded to slowly and that as a consequence we had missed our air traffic slot. The guy said we had had eleven minutes and had taken longer than that. Well, may be he thought we were on one of those challenge Anneka things. ... ...of a plane and get it to the end of a runway.
We waited 90 minutes for another ATC slot.
The plane was severly cramped, the aisle very narrow and one toilet didn't work.
Our return flight was also delayed, but no information was given out. I ended up phoning UK operations to find out when they expected the plane to arrive, which took half a dozen people and cost a fortune.
Not very impressed at all. ...

Having just flown with JMC with all of the worry (see the notes below) I was pleasantly surprised. The email that I sent back in April time had made a difference. I emailed JMC to say that my husband is 6'2" tall and needed the extra leg room (having heard that their seats were very close I showed concern). We got to the check in desk and the lady said that our seats had been prebooked. To save a scene I didn't query her comments and carried ... ...were pleasant. I even emailed JMC when we got home to say that some of the staff deserved a slap on the back for communication and pleasantness.
So even though I was worried about the booking with JMC I was in the end very happy.
I thought that I would just write my opinion about JMC Airlines, of whom I have just last week booked our flights to Malaga for July 2001.
I have just been emailing their Admin Services to see if we could have extra leg ...

...would make me fly with JMC again. Fortunately, We were only flying to Malaga and not long distance. If wing seats (outside) were provided I would have been tempted
to have a go. Why, you might ask? No air conditioning. Along with another 250 souls, I gasped for air for the whole 2 hours. A very uncomfortable experience, let me tell you.
I cannot comment on the in-flight entertainment, as the vcr was broken, but that was ok, as I was kept entertained ... ...and a nice chap behind me seranaded along quite un-tunefully, that at least did bring a smile to my face, at least he had paid for his headphones, I sadly had none.
Food, well, that's another thing altogether. I swear someones joke rubber chicken had found it's way into my portion. Yuk, sums it up there.
One bit of advice for all you poor unsuspecting travellers, when the drinks trolley comes round, get enough for your needs, as they only come ...
