    - Introduction - I've been with my parents on a number of holidays that were booked through James Villas and so I feel I am quite familiar with the company, certainly in terms of the type of holidays you get through them anyway. We've been to a number of different places through the years, from a small town in the Algarve (Portugal) in 2002 (which was eye opening to put it that way), to this year when we went to Malta (which ive done a long review of) and other places such as Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, on the Canary Islands and Cyprus.     A long time a go we toyed with the idea of going away and booking a private villa, but decided it was probably going to be too expensive. Then one rainy summer’s afternoon, some surfing brought up James Villas website. We put in a few figures and realised that for 4 people, we could have a very nice villa in October for less than £350 each. After chatting with some friends we decided to bite the bullet and book.     Oh, it's that time of year again, when most of us sit day dreaming thinking of faraway places. Well to be honest, I daydream all the time. I actually work for a travel company who specialise in boating holiday in the UK, but whilst I appreciate they like this type of thing, my choice is somewhere much warmer. A few years ago, I sent off for some information on James Villas, I'd seen them advertised in a magazine called private Villas.     James Villas had a strong advertising campaign over the last 2 years and, after a very happy holiday with them to Mallorca in 2004, we decided to book a week in Tuscany for the end of August 2008. The website is very informative and we decided on our accommodation - Villa Podere Il Renaio in Legoli. A helpful section of the website allows you to check availability and prices for the week you want and weeks either side and so we were sorted. Actually, no! I know flights from Newcastle to Pisa were available with Jet2 (I had checked the prices on Jet2 website) but the James Villas website ... more

    Initially we wanted to book our package via the internet. However the flights on the site were either extremely unsociable hours (departure 5am etc) or you missed both ends because you arrived past midnight and left the villa around 6am the last day. Finally we rung an agent who seemed to have access to many more flights than we did and got a suitable time. Because this was not an internet option we had to go through him.     EFROSONI II Coral Bay, Cyprus First off, I should say that I have no connection with James Villas or the owner or anyone else connected with the holiday we took at this villa. So, having got that over with, here are some of the things you need to know about a holiday at this villa. We stayed for a week in April.     Disadvantages Disadvantages None - although might not be suitable for all travelers

    Over the past 3 years we have used James Villa Holidays six times. Our initial experience was in Gale, Algarve; we went on to stay in La Font, Pollença, Mallorca three times; and more recently have stayed at La Boheme in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote and Forteza in Kalami, Crete. Our first taste of James Villas was in a 2 bedroom apartment in Gale, Algarve. The apartment itself was spacious and well maintained, with a large patio, fully equipped kitchen and TV/Satellite unit in the comfortable living room.     Have been reading other reviews with interest. Wow. We must have been unlucky. The reviews are so good and in so much detail that they almost could have been written by James Villa holidays (joke) My wife, 3 children and mother and father in law and myself of course took a 2 week holiday to Majorca in August last year. The list of problems we had was unbelievable. James Villas holidays were not prepared to fix our problems. Even though we had spent £3,648.27 (this was without flights). We telephoned them for the 1st three days complaining. We even sent them a solicitors letter on the 3rd day ... more

    ++ ARRIVAL ++ We landed at Lanzarote airport and took a taxi to our villa - it took a little while to get there as we had not a lot of experience of Spanish and the taxi driver didn't seem to know where our villa was....but we got there eventually :) ++ The Villa ++ Well we were really looking forward to entering the villa on our own and being delighted - but the "Manager" who cleans the pool was "There" on the doorstep the minute we arrived - god knows where he came from = he must of been watching as he said they lived "Across the road" so we thought "Great :-(" Anyway he showed us around the ... more
