Have only found this review site after experienceing first hand how poor James Villas service can be. Be very wary that James Villas use 3rd party management agencies in some cases as we found to our cost on the Costa Blanca after renting a villa in Denia. Whilst we had the services of James Villas reps the maintenance was by a company called BTB. On arrival our initial choice villa had no hot water, filthy decor and furniture, the whole house smelt of mildew, problems with mould and the pool filtration system did not work. BEWARE older Spanish properties have no damp proofing and this causes serious issues if renting as we did at the end of the season in October. ...

Quick review of James Villas
I've now used James' Villas for 5 consecutive holidays. Each time, they have been fantastic in terms of value, tranquility, comfort and reliability.
The last two holidays have not been any different through James Villas. Last year we headed off to Menorca, Cala Blance for a week in September 07. The villa was clean, well furnished, and with all the kitchen and house utensils you'd need to enjoy your stay. The pool, was clean, and the surrounding gardens looked clean and well maintained. This tear we stayed in Nerja, and although the weather wasn't so good, the rest of the villa and pool and scenary were superb. ...

Quick review of James Villas
We have just returned from villa karina in the costa del sol in nerja.The villa was very spacious and clean but a horrible drive to get to it!!once we were up there we didnt come down apart from the day we had to go to the police station because we had been robbed in the night while we were asleep,taking all our holiday money!! I would not recomend any one to rent this villa and will not be using james villas again.If anyone is considering a james villa holiday please make sure there is a safe and bars on the windows. ...

..."Il Bagnese" in Italy via James Villas a "best of" villa. We walked out within 1 hour of arrival. The place was filthy!!! Mould on toilet seat, shower broken mould on curtains and around base, drawer units falling to pieces, scum line around swimming pool, microwave on top of fridge freezer, kitchen non-existant, etc.... Passports, we were asked to enter our full passport details onto forms in a file that was left on the sideboard, this file contained ... ...in Tuscany - sold by James Villas UPDATE 24/11/2008.
After an initial insulting offer for full settlement of £87.71p my solicitor sent a 7 days notice letter, on the last day a letter was received increasing the settlement offer to £325.43p. I have rejected this offer and given my solicitior instructions to proceed with court action. UPDATE 20/03/2009
Today received cheque for £800.00p and voucher for £100.00, total £900.00 in full and final settlement. ...

similar experience as another reviewer. Our villa was robbed and ransacked on the first day. Returned home ASAP, James Villas do NOT want to know.
For your holiday enjoyment, NEVER book with this company. ...

Just been to James Villa in puerto del carmen,absolutely brilliant! Villa was modern ,clean,pool man came every day to check water,couldnt fault it at all.Supermarket a few yards away ,beach at end of road with many restuarants,intended sightseeing but all 12 of us were quite happy sitting by pool all day and going out to eat at night.Would highly recommend Villa Laurona.Only problem on last day rep said be ok to stay there till pick up at 11 as ... ...no one told us or the cleaner who was not to impressed with us at first but ok once we explained and she had spoke to office.The only gripe we had was that villa was reduced by half before we left so if you can wait till nearer time of leaving to book ,you may get a good bargain.Would definately go again. ...

...money was subsequently stolen. James villas did not provide a safe, they told us that they could not determine what individual villa owners put into each villa. Surely if they rent them out to us, then they have some responsibility for our personal security. Needless to say they took no responsibility for these events when we contacted them after we arrived home. The customer service was non existent. Anyone could have copied or stolen the keys, ...
