Jekyll and Hyde’s is a member of the Scary Pub Company chain of pubs, of which there are a number within Edinburgh, including the Old Fire Station, Sneaky Pete's and Maggie Dicksons to name a few. They all have a theme based on the darker side of Edinburgh History. Jekyll and Hyde’s theme comes from the Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Luis Stevenson.
Stevenson got his inspiration from the historical ... ...twisted it so that Doctor Jekyll used his chemistry skills to delve into the other side of his human psyche.
The pub plays more on the darker side of the story, but everything is normal on the outside. Jekyll and Hyde’s is located a short walk from Princes Avenue, at 112 Hanover Street. The front is not too flashy and a single door leads inside.

Advantages: great, erie atmoshpere Disadvantages: always packed by 9 pm
...pub in Edinburgh is the Jekyll and Hyde. It's quite central for one, you can walk there easily from Princes Street. The whole place is decorated with old books, medical instruments, bones and more, and of course all the stuff is supposed to have belonged to Dr. Jekyll himself.
In any case, the atmosphere is great, you can sit up on a little balcony or even go down to a vault-like part. Among the things I'd recommend you try is any one of the cocktails ... ...want a whole pitcher, go for a smaller quantity served in a test-tube. The Nachos are also great, you get a pile of them for not too much money. All in all, this place is a must-see and you'll discover new things every time you go. As for discovering the hidden toilet - well, I won't help you with this one. Just watch how the others do it. ...

Well recommended. This has to be my most favourite pub in the UK. If I lived in Edinburgh I wouldn't be out of this place. It won't appeal to everyone but tough. It appeals to like minded people so that makes it absolutely perfect. ...
