Advantages: A fantastic night out Disadvantages: Not for the easily offended.
“This is my Jerry Springer Moment,
I don't want this moment to die
so dip me in chocolate
and throw me to the lesbians
I don't want this moment to die”
An anthem for our times, this verse sums up for me what Jerry Springer the Opera is all about.
I went to see this show a few weeks ago, on a wet Monday night, on some half-price tickets from TKTS and I am so glad that I did. This is probably one of the cleverest original pieces of Musical ...

Advantages: Hilariously entertaining stage comedy Disadvantages: You need a seriously open mind to watch this
...heard a lot about Jerry Springer - The Opera, not least of all the controversy recently caused when BBC2 showed a televised recording of the stage show. The biggest complaint by far was about the number of swear words contained within the show, followed closely by the religious morality of the production, but I have to take my hat off to Auntie, who stuck to her guns and broadcast the show anyway.
If, like me, you've not been able to work out whether ...

Advantages: Absolutely hilarious! Disadvantages: Not for the faint hearted or for kids!
So you've heard about Jerry Springer the opera, right? And I'm guessing a lot of you had exactly the same reaction as a certain boyfriend of mine - i.e. "Well I'm not going to see it - I can't imagin anything worse! A combination of Jerry Springer and Opera - two of my most hated things!"
I got him the tickets for his birthday. He was gutted. In fact, we argued for around two days straight. But there was soon a great deal of word-eating going on ...

Jerry Springer- The Opera, Cambridge Theatre, London
Run Time: 2hrs 20mins
Prepare to be shocked. Never in my many years of visiting the theatre have I been exposed to such profanity, blasphemy and such absurd crudity. Oh yeh, and guess what? It’s fantastic!! Jerry, played by David Soul in this latest West End showing is quite satisfied in letting giving delinquents, oddities and extroverts express their grievances on prime-time TV. After all, ...

Advantages: Hilariously funny Disadvantages: Maybe the language if you're not up to rude words
...strong language, but it is Jerry Springer so what would you expect. The “Talk to the hand”, and catchy “Jerry” tune have now been living inside my mind for nearly a week now. But I’m not complaining.
***The Cast***
With two magnificent David’s in the lead roles David Soul from Starsky and Hutch fame as the main man Jerry and David Bedella, probably better known as Carlos in Holby City as the warm up man/ Devil. Both of them are cracking actors ...

...the face ain't listening' and Jerry keeps coming out with the classics of 'You seem upset' at the right moments whilst taclking with the Devil who keeps appearing on the stage trying to take Jerry's place in the spotlight.
The show is in two parts which will give you a breather from all the profanties and a chance to get a drink to calm you down or get you more in the moon if the first half shocks you a little.
Trust me though, what more can ...
