Jersey, a spot in map

Advantages: very cool and exciting same time, beaches, people
Disadvantages: expensive, not recommended for non european

Well to start with Jersey island, we heard about it while in India but never thought we would landed here for 3 months in summer 2008. But we are and very pleased to be here. === Location: === As many knows it is southmost part of UK, around 100 miles from UK and 7 miles from France. Largest of 4 channel island. === Connectivity: === You can either reach Jersey by air or sea. Though fares are not much different advance booking in flight might ...

Condor ferries is popular ferry service from UK to Jersey which take around 4 hours when there is good weather. JERSEY, A LOVELY SUNNY HOLIDAY AND PEACEFUL

Advantages: quiet, 40 miles per hour speed limit, glorious beaches
Disadvantages: could be too quiet if you stayed too many nights?

Jersey is an island that I have always wanted to visit. I went there for 1 day over 10 years ago, when I holidayed in France, and have always vowed to go back again. This year I finally made it and stayed at a hotel in St Helier (Merton Hotel, reviewed separately). Jersey can be reached by ferry or plane. We took the fast catamaran from Condor Ferries at Weymouth, sailing at 7am on Sunday morning, arriving at 10.30am, and sailed back at 2.30pm on ...
...Herm, Sark and Alderney. Jersey is situated 100 miles from the south of mainland Britan and 14 miles from the coast of France. Its size is 9 miles by 5 and the island doubles in size when the tide goes out. Jersey is divided into 12 parishes, the capital being St Helier. Although it is closer to France it is owned by the UK. Jersey was occupied by the Germans in World War 2 from 1940 until 1945 and as such, as a lot of war history. LANDSCAPES ...

...in the UK knows where Jersey is located but for all of you folks who may be as ignorant as me at first , Jersey is one of the beautiful islands which belong to the Channel Islands group which are located kind of south of England ( and the rest of UK I suppose ). Jersey is apparently only 7 miles from the coast of France but belongs to the UK. The language spoken is English ( although two ladies in a cake shop spoke what sounded like French ...that's ...
...I went to Jersey on a sort of long weekend break, 4 days exactly. We have arrived by plane which takes about an hour from Doncaster airport. The Jersey airport is located in the western part of the island and is very easily accessible by local bus from St. Helier which is the capital of the island. It is also very accessible the other way of course. The buses run quite often which is about 20-30 minutes. The airport itself is quite nice and has a ...

...but that's another review!) Jersey is situated just 12 miles off the north west cost of France. I have spent many a happy holiday in Jersey and thought it would be nice to share my experience with others who may wish to visit in the future. ~~~ A Little Background Information ~~~ Jersey, together with the other four main Channel Islands of Guernsey, Herm, Sark and Alderney, was originally ruled by the Duchy of Normandy, but came under British rule ...

Jersey is rich in history dating back centuries, and there is a particularly large amount of wartime memorabilia which is always popular with tourists. ~~~ What Kind Of People Visit Jersey? ~~~ Jersey caters for more or less everybody. However, it is not the kind of place you would want to go on an 18-30 holiday or a stag weekend, but visitors of all ages will find there is always something there that suits them. There are beaches ...

...I haven’t been back to Jersey since 1995. Although I will endeavour to inject a lot of facts and a little bit of history here, this is essentially my opinion on an island that I love. My memories of this idyllic island stretch back a long way, and may be a little bit biased, as I was fortunate enough to be born in Jersey, and then spend the first three years of my life there. However, I will try to portray an objective opinion. The Island ...

Disadvantages: A lot of tourist areas closed in winter, poor road signposts

Although I was in Jersey to work earlier this month, I still feel that my 10-day stay on the Island gave me a good feel for the place. ~ ~ BACKGROUND ~ ~ Jersey is 90 miles from the South Coast of England and 14 miles from France. It is one of the Channel Islands, along with Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm. Formerly a volcanic island, the isle now covers 45 square miles and has 20 beaches around its perimeter, many in secluded bays. Unlike Monaco ...

Bargain shopping on a beautiful island

Advantages: Tax free shopping, better weather than England, You can use English money
Disadvantages: There own currency that you cant spend in England

Jersey is a small island off the French coastline but dispite it's location is still part of the United Kingdom. It's perfect for a getaway from England without having to speak a different language. *Getting There As with all overseas places there are two ways to get there, by plane and boat. Real Classy Place, shame about the airport staff

Advantages: Real Beautiful Place
Disadvantages: Airport Security Staff - not all of course

Jersey is one of the Channel Islands, situated in the English Channel, in very close proximity to France. Even though the island is only 9x5 miles, it is the largest of the all the channel islands and its coast is an amazing 48 miles long. The Culture Jersey is a very 'cute' little place, despite it being the largest of the Channel Islands. There is a hint of french culture, this will have alot to do with its close proximity to France. An unfortunate beginning

Advantages: great shopping, a lot to do
Disadvantages: those customs guys

...we alighted on the island Jersey Customs and Immigration officers seemed to think all their birthdays and Christmases has come at once! Owing to a recent 'outing' with local joyriders our Cavalier was more battered than usual; I was wearing a Dead Kennedys t-shirt and my partner and I had strange coloured hair - we stuck out like a proverbial sore thumb and the glint in the eyes of the uniformed officers as a dozen of them waved everyone else past ...

Founded by dear departed naturalist Gerald Durrell some 50 years ago; this haven for endangered species really is a model of how all zoos could, and certainly should be. Jersey, What a suprise

Advantages: fantastic time
Disadvantages: cant remembering much

Ive just been over to Jersey on my mates Stag Night, I was so suprised that it was a such a beatiful island. I flew from Exeter which only cost about £120 return and took about 20 minutes which is ideal. I stayed in St Hellier which is the princable town on the island, i was so impressed how friendly everyone was to us. I think this is because there is hardly no crime rate on the island, The Police are red hot. The island just stinks of money ...

Nice for a break

Advantages: Lovely little island
Disadvantages: Can get boring after a while

I went to Jersey a few years ago now but it is a place that I would love to return to. It is a very small island and you can basically see the whole island in a day by car, but there are many places to visit that will keep you entertained for hours. One such place is called the Shell Garden where, as the name indicates, everything is made out of shells (a miniture church etc) - really beautiful. **Teens in Jersey**

Advantages: Nice beaches, low crime rate and change from UK.
Disadvantages: Expensive and can be boring.

...First off, to be blunt, Jersey is boring. There isn't much to do for anyone over 6 and under 16 and everything is expensive, and this is much worse in the winter. If the parental units are planning on a trip to the land of the spuds, suggest to them - no, PLEAD, - that they go in the summer. At least that way you have advantage of the gorgeous beaches. Next, make sure you save your pocket money if you are planning on a spending spree. Contary to ...

We also have a BHS, a Claires, a Woolies, a Boots, an Accesorize, a Jane Norman, a Miss Selfriges, an SDS and a HMV. There is also Voisins which I have heard compared to Harrods. We only have one High Street, and a shopping centre is opening next year. While out ...
