Jurys Inn Belfast, Belfast

My company had their Christmas Party at Jury's in London a couple of years ago, so I thought it would be a good bet for my first visit to Belfast. But it did not compare at all to the Jury's Hotel in London. It was convenient to get to from the Belfast City Airport - taxi cost 7 pounds sterling, and the room rate was not bad for a business/work week stay at 65 pounds sterling per night (the rack rate on the wall is 71 and their website is 69, so it pays to get your travel agent to book them for you!) On Saturday night 12 females went on the rampage in Belfast. It was my friend Leonas Hen night and we had previously arranged to book into Jury's Inn. Four rooms had been booked. Which was excellent - no questions asked - many establishments are quite cagey about block bookings especially when alcohol will be involved! We checked in around 4.30pm to give ourselves time to enhance our natural beauty! I've stayed here a couple of times when staying the night in Belfast, for 2 reasons, I used to work in a building across the road (I'm strange like that!) and also it's centrally located, so within staggering distance of some of the best pubs in Belfast. Jury's is a modern hotel, built across the road from Church House, and the Spires Mall shopping centre, so if you have a room facing Church House, the bell's tolling could be slightly annoying at 2am! I stayed at this hotel over the new year with my friend. the room that we paid for was for 3 adults. On arrival we had a big fight with the reception staff who said that they had no recolection of out booking, which could be understood as it was new years eve and things can be a little caotic. When we eventually got our keys, we found the room to be very basic, but had all the nessesities. We went to the hotel bar, where we paid alost £9 for two drinks! Had taken my family to Belfast a few days back and stayed at this wonderfully located hotel in Belfast. It is a stone's throw to all major Belfast attractions. We could do the City Hall, a bit of shopping nearby and the Opera - all in one evening. It is a location to die for in Belfast. Took Allens tour of Giant Causeway the next day and they picked us up from the hotel, so that's a huge plus. The hotel is very clean and cosy, and a full breakfast for £8.50 to add.
