...effective and convenient option was KLM Cityhopper from Cardiff. THE BOOKING PROCESS Flights can be booked on-line, although in this instance, as it was a corporate credit card we ended up booking through their telephone ticket office which cost us a whapping 30p more than it would have done on-line, and lo and behold 2 weeks later I received my tickets, quite a rarity in this day and age; the likes of EasyJet and BMI Baby work solely on the basis ... ...a few different reviews on KLM which suggest that their level of service appears to vary quite a lot and this ties in with my own experience. I travel on business quite a lot and recently flew with KLM from Edinburgh to Detroit via Amsterdam. I then flew up to Toronto and returned from there to Edinburgh, again via Amsterdam. Disadvantages: tight timing and connections

...leaving not the fault of KLM it was air traffic control..the on board catering was very good.....and the Captain very helpful and informative....all in all I enjoyed my first flights with KLM and would fly again with them...except I would allow more time for my connecting flights at Schipol..it is a huge airport and you need to allow at least an Hour or more between connections for a comfortable transfer.... ... ...2310, 5 mins before our KLM flight to Amsterdam was due to leave. There were no KLM reps at gate to give instructions as to what we had to do so we had to go to the transfer desk and join the queue. We were served at 2318, the initial question was did the KLM rep at the gate not give you any instructions. We NEVER saw a KLM rep during the whole time we were on the ground in KL. I travelled with KLM from Glasgow to Kuala Lumpur via Amsterdam. The first leg was on a Fokker regional jet, there was only one class but there was reasonable leg room and the snack was not overly generous but still tastey – cold roll. cheese and cake. I have flown with KLM frequently over the past ten years or so, and have in all that time yet to be truly dissatisfied with its performance. Their frequent flyer program with NorthWest is top-class, easy to use and involves a minimum of hassle. My family and I have taken advantage of numerous free tickets acquired through the scheme. I recently used KLM to fly from Birmingham to Lima, via Amsterdam. The whole experience was very satisfying. Checking in at Birmingham was a doddle, we booked through to Lima. The flights left on time. We were given a newspaper as we boarded the plane at Birmingham, followed by breakfast. After a short stop over in Amsterdam (Schipol is a lot better place to spend a couple of hours than Heathrow), we took off on the 13 hour flight to Lima. ... Read review

I have never been on 2 better flights. It was amazing. We were whisked from our local airport (Leeds) to Schiphol quickly and efficiently, where we arrived with no fuss. Check in queues were non-existent due to efficient and friendly staff. Or the small plane.
