...my local airport (Humberside) with KLM UK, my case was tagged, and i didnt see it again until I arrived in L.A. I was given boarding cards for not only my shuttle to Amsterdam, but also my connecting flight from there, consequently, when I arrived at Amsterdam, I knew exactly which gate to head for, which was superbly signposted, and so easy to find. ...spent 9 hours on a KLM jumbo flying from Amsterdam to Aruba and it's an experience I would not like to repeat. The seat pitch is a measly 31" which even for a stumpy legged girl of 5ft 5" is not much. There are no personal TV screens in the back of the seat in front and the seats do not have adjustable headrests or foot stands. ...when we have to fly KLM include the following. 1.Lost Luggage. A perennial problem when flying through Amsterdam(AMS). This is some sort of Dutch Lottery. I suspect that a lot of it is to do with punctuality and over optimistic connection times being allowed by KLM. The worst I have experienced was on a flight to Mexico City(MEX). ...have been always on time. KLM has really good deals on its website if you buy the ticket online. On long flights, each seat has its own TV screen, where you can watch films. About the drinks and food I would say that they are good but the service is slow. The seats comfortable when you sit, but they are quite basic for sleeping. TRAVELLED WITH KLM FIRST AND LAST TIME EVER...FIRSTLY PRE-BOOKED TICKETS DIRECT WITH KLM TOLD ME I COULD COLLECT AT AIRPORT, NOT THERE, KLM MADE ME RE-PURCHASE MY TICKETS AT ALMOST DOUBLE THE COST.. I recently flew KLM from London to Amsterdam, a one hour flight. The plane was clean and there was more legroom than most other short hop planes (which is important as I'm 6'2"). The staff were friendly and helpful and in general everything went smoothly. The only problem is they don't seem to serve food, so you have to buy it separately! Disadvantages: You may loose your luggage!

I flew with KLM from Texas to Holland in September 2003. Their planes are very comfortable, clean, and up-to-date. The ticket prices are great. You get plenty to eat and drink and the meals are actually tolerable! The leg room isn't the greatest, but you can survive.There is one problem, however. ...people who are angry with KLM regarding luggage handling. My sister visited me (Glasgow) from Germany (Paderborn) last year with a KLM connecting flight via Amsterdam. Two days later KLM still could not say where her luggage was and advised us to buy her new clothes etc and send the receipts to their customer service helpdesk in London for a refund.Which we did. Disadvantages: Depending on your ill-luck, atrocious service that would even embarass a rude Chinatown restaurant.

While on a trip from the UK to Singapore recently, I had both the fortune and displeasure of first-hand experience with KLM's rumoured two-faced in-flight service. The outward flight was a godsend, the stuff travellers can only dream about in economy class. The latest horror story about KLM comes from me - the person who praises El Al, of all things! I'm usually very tolerant of airlines, and am willing to give them a whole lot of leeway, but this one just threw me for a loop. We didn't expect this kind of treatment from KLM. ...from Norwich to Amsterdam with KLM Cityhopper and lasted for only 40mins and they also provided you with refreshments and snacks. I booked this flight with a travel agents but recommend you use the Internet as you will avoid travel agent fees. I have flown with KLM (or Northwest) on more than 30 occasions and am generally satisfied with their performance. Their aircraft are reasonably comfortable and modern and the routes offerred are fairly comprehensive - although you may need to fly via their hub in Amsterdam which does add to the journey time and provides greater opportunity for a missed connection or delay.
