Advantages: Depending on your luck, a level of service that would make business class folk envious. Disadvantages: Depending on your ill-luck, atrocious service that would even embarass a rude Chinatown restaurant.
While on a trip from the UK to Singapore recently, I had both the fortune and displeasure of first-hand experience with KLM's rumoured two-faced in-flight service.
The outward flight was a godsend, the stuff travellers can only dream about in economy class. Service was tip-top, attendants lived up to their name and then some, while the food was - oddly enough - decent enough to tempt me into asking for seconds. Thinking that I would enjoy the same ... ...I could hardly have been more off-target. Service? What service? Attendants spent half their time chatting up Dutch blokes, hot food was tossed onto my palms, and a request for ice with my Coke still hasn't been met.
I've been warned about KLM's propensity for Jekyll & Hyde in-flight service, hopefully this short missive spreads the note of caution around. ...

Advantages: The flight was OK, the movie fair, the food edible. Disadvantages: Poor attitude, stupid attendants, unreasonable ground staff, unswervingly obstinate and not the least bit customer friendly
The latest horror story about KLM comes from me - the person who praises El Al, of all things!
I'm usually very tolerant of airlines, and am willing to give them a whole lot of leeway, but this one just threw me for a loop. We didn't expect this kind of treatment from KLM.

...from Norwich to Amsterdam with KLM Cityhopper and lasted for only 40mins and they also provided you with refreshments and snacks.
I booked this flight with a travel agents but recommend you use the Internet as you will avoid travel agent fees.
The check in staff were very efficient and when you collect your boarding card you can choose your own seat at the Self-service check-in kiosk providing you arrive early enough as this is subject to availability
... ...for money, I was flying economy class but with first class service. The seats where qutie small but flight only lasts for 40 mins.
You can also earn airmiles with their Flying Dutchman membership which is great as KLM Cityhopper offers flights to almost all airports within Europe. ...

I have flown with KLM (or Northwest) on more than 30 occasions and am generally satisfied with their performance. Their aircraft are reasonably comfortable and modern and the routes offerred are fairly comprehensive - although you may need to fly via their hub in Amsterdam which does add to the journey time and provides greater opportunity for a missed connection or delay.

when i choosed klm was for promotions they offer in egypt that time.\'

KLM are the dutch international airline and has a excellent history it also was the first for many things. It also has a great safety record. When i flew with KLM it was from London Heathrow to Schipol (netherlands) then schipol to Princess Juliana airport ( St Martin Carribbean) altogether this is about 8 and a half hour journey. The whole way through the journey i never had a problem except that i'm petrified of aeroplane toilets (lol). Apart from ... ...when you were sleeping or most people were they still came aroung asking would you like another drink of water. The food was superb for airline food and the best airline food i have ever had. The Air stewardesses spoke english fluently and could also speak dutch. The flights were not bumpy and the landing and take-off went smoothly. ...

Advantages: Very extensive network from UK regional airports Disadvantages: Some very small planes from certain UK airports
KLM is probably one of the most reliable airlines currently around, particularly if you don't live neat a major London airport, as they serve loads of UK regional airports (I travel mostly from Birmingham). Some of their regional jest can be quite small, a problem if you are only travelling with hand luggage, but the cabin crew are very obliging and will do their best to help you. My son has travelled with them as an unaccompanied minor several times ... ...children. I believe the kids waiting room at Schipol is equipped with computer games which of course children love! I have also found that they seem to offer reduced fare which do not necessarily involve a Saturday night sta, obviously in an attempt to compete with low budget airlines. So go on, have a try.
PS) I am flying with them to the USA in a few days, so I hope I won't change my opinion! ...

...about a refund for my KLM return ticket (you have to try these things) as expected they said no but did offer to give me a credit note which was valid for 30 days.
Oh, did I mention that when I arrived in Greece my suitcase did not. Aparently it decided to stay in Athens. Looks like the baggage handlers did not have their trainers on either. To their credit though they did have it delivered to the nearest train station by courier the next day. ...

Won holiday to NY for st Patricks 2003. Cancelled due to the war in Iraq, jobsworth would not refund the money but awarded tickets for the value to be used whenever, after I chased them for 5 months, they only coresponded once, I called at least 20 times and wrote at least 5 times.
Booked flights to amsterdam 09/03 for me and 6 yr old. No check in time on tickets so got to airport I hour before take off, stood in check in queue for 30 mins then ... ...flight. Sent to booking desk, told I was stupid and should have read the ticket, asked them to show me where on ticket is said 2 hrs before take off..they admitted it was no on ticket and put me on next flight....which took off before my original flight, still have vouchers to use but will do it under protest, Hotel re-imbursed the cash paid and this was re-used to pay for another hotel.
The flight was fairly normal, arrived on time but never took ...

I have flown KLM to the Far East (mainly Manila in the Philippines) several times in the past 12 months. The only reason I put up with it is the price. You can fly from your local airport to Amsterdam, which is fine, but there you board a jumbo jet. The first trap for the unwary is that the 747 is a combi (mixed passengers and freight) which means the stopovers en route last longer than usual because of cargo loading/unloading. Eventhough mistakes have been made in the past, KLM's becoming more and more, the airline to travel with. A friendly staff, good beverages, excellent service. KLM, rarely taking off late, seldom arriving past the ETA, the flight itself is filled with current films, an option to listen to the news, good music on a variety of channels, and actual DECENT edible airline food. (Even their white wine isn't half bad!). And eventhough rates are going up ...
