Kata Beach Resort, Phuket

I definitely experienced my best holiday in Thailand! I started the holiday in Bangkok, and after the rush of the city, it was so nice to relax and experience Phuket. I stayed in Kata, which was such a nice resort... not as built up and 'seedy' as Patong... and it definitely had the best beach! The Kata Beach Resort was lovely! The bungalows were really nice and all spread out on a hill, which meant you weren't disturbed by the noises from the resort. We stayed 1 week at this hotel. Went mainly because of the location - on Kata Beach which is supposed to have the best snorkeling. We have not been to Phuket since 1995, so we were anxious to return! Not sure if it was because of the Tsunami or bad time of year, but the visibility for snorkeling was not good. BUT the beach was great! There are MANY umbrellas and chairs that you can rent - just need to work out the system! Each vendor has a group he takes charge of - it cost 100 Baht each for the day.
