    The Klein (Little) Karoo, or place of great Dryness as it was called by the indigenous people. Geographically it is a fertile valley (enclosed by the Swartberg, Langeberg and Outeniqua mountains) full of many wonderful rock formations and cave paintings. Location: As implied by the name, the Little Karoo is the smaller, more southerly of the two Karoo regions (the other being the Groot Karoo).     Advantages Advantages The attractions and the peace and quietness

    I grew up in the LIttle Karoo and the place was an ostrich mecca! Still is but they mostly sell the meat which is very healthy. The Klein Karoo has lots of attractions. The main town is Oudtshoorn and most of the tourism attraction are near it. There's the Kango Caves which is a must to see. Then there are the Highgate and Safari Ostrich farms where you can ride on ostriches. On the way to the Kango caves there's the buffelsdrift game farm where you can walk with elephants and enjoy a nice meal and have a view over the buffelsdrift dam.
