...and my boyfriend stayed in Kuala Lumpur for three nights in October this year and had a wonderful time.
GETTING THERE
We visited Kuala Lumpur as part of a package deal. We flew to Borneo, stayed there for 2 weeks, and then flew from Borneo to Kuala Lumpur, which took us about 3 hours. A flight direct from Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur would take about 13 hours and many people choose to do stop overs in Kuala Lumpur, as it is very easy to fit into any ... ...a stopover in Kuala Lumpur (often called KL) was because it was offered to us at a very cheap price, £8 per night per person and we thought it would break up our flight home.
ACCOMADATION
We stayed at the 4 star Capitol Hotel which was right smack bang in the middle of town. We found this to be an excellent location as we could walk to the local markets, restaurants and bars. There are hundreds of hotel in Kuala Lumpur and you would definitely ...

I'v been here last year in January for my Management Training, was there for 5days out which 2 days were my training & rest i was exploring KL With my friends.
Kl is the capital of malaysia, and singapore & thailand are its neigbouring countires. There are people from different places over here, like English, Chinese, Malay,Indian & so on.
The language spoken over here is Malay or English. I stayed in the Prince Hotel which is 4 star hotel & its ... ...you 325Ringates.(Ringates its the local currency of Malaysia 4Ringates=$1). so the price of staying at such a hotel was quite cheap. My room was at 12th floor so was having a good view of KL, also petronas Tower is quite near to it. The KL Internationa Airport is just brilliant, once you land over here and you see the architecture of this you just say Wow. there is tube service running to take you from your check out & check in To the terminals Gate.

The round trip ticket to KL cost 46 Singapore dollars. The ride itself takes about 4-5 hours and on the bus they show a movie. ...been a shopping hub in Kuala Lumpur and today houses a number of one stop shopping complexes such as Bukit Bintang Plaza, Lot 10, Star Hill Shopping Centre and Sungai Wang Plaza. My favourite,however,is the KL Plaza. This place pioneered the concept of shopping under one roof. The anchor tenant is Mun Loong department store which is a great place to buy exceelent value-for-money ladies and gents clothing. ...out in an Asian capital, Kuala Lumpur is probably one of the best to opt for. It's still crowded, polluted and occasionally dangerous, but less so than, say Jakarta or Bangkok. At the moment its also a bargain thanks to the exchange rates - travellers from the rest of Asia will probably think its extortionate, but arrive from the West or Singapore and you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's also worth noting that most prices are also open to negotiation, ... ...hotels if they have a "special offer" on, or a "weekend special" - the price for a room could drop dramatically or you could get breakfast thrown in or something. KL's great for food (as is the whole of Malaysia) - try heading for the places aimed at locals (helps if you speak a bit of Bahasa, it's easy enough) or eating street food as most Malaysians, even the well paid ones do. ...you sould definetly go to Kuala Lumpar, in Malaysia.
Kuala Lumpar (KL) is in central Malaysia and it is very hot and sunny.
KL is perfect for shopping and you'll find anything and everything, plus everything is so cheap.
If you go to the little shops and small buisness's you can even barter, which is even better.
You can even visit the famous Twin Towers in KL, it's a wonderful building to go up and see... It's an amazing piece of architecture.

I visited Kuala Lumpur (KL) in October 2003 after spending a week on the wonderful island of Pangkor. When I arrived I was slightly shell shocked at the size of all the buildings and almost fell out of a taxi because I was so pre-occupied with the amazing skyline. Our hotel, The Mandarin Oriental, was right next to the Petronas Towers and the KLCC shopping centre. It is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and we got a great deal for the room. ... ...you eat your dinner are truly wonderful and ones that I will remember for a very long time.
I found Kuala Lumpur a delight with lots to see and do. I would recommend a visit to anyone who is going to Asia to experience the thriving city for themselves. ...

Advantages: hotels to fit every budget, food and shops to match. Disadvantages: Too hot and humid but you can get used to it.
When you visit KL you are in a shoppers paradise. Visit Bukit Bintang where you will find that the KL's first hotel with a revolving restaurant, the Federal is still a popular 3 star hotel, a favourite with tourists. A walk will take you to Sungei Wang, a shopping complex with a wider variety of clothes and goods competively priced. Opposite is Imbi Plaza where you can find the best prices for computer hardware and software. A visit to the Petronas ... ...view the city from the bridge. We queued up at 9 am, collected our tickets and went round to KLCC for breakfast before the doors were opened to go up for the breathtaking view. KLCC is a great shoppers centre if you fancy shopping.
Batu Caves was a bit of a miss - after climbing all the way to the top I was disappointed that we could not venture into the caves for abit of exploration.
Everywhere taxis are in abundance and very cheap too. Petaling ...

Kuala Lumpur or KL, is consider to be one of the best city in the world. Talking about food, one can savour a variety of dishes prepared in Chinese, Malay or Indian style. For tourist, I would recommend them to try these foods at the hawker centre i.e. Bangsar, Damasara, Jalan Alor.
Night Life is interseting as well. Especially in Bangsar ( Jalan Telawi 2), I will said the environment is almost similar to Picadilly in London. One will be tempted ...

...description on the nightlife in Kuala Lumpur. I agree with him but now I'd like to give a 'local's' point of view of night clubbing in Kuala Lumpur. I'm now a Malaysian student studying in the U.K so hopefully I'll be able to let expected tourists to my country a more home grown style of clubbing. Firstly, be remimded that Malaysian's do not take kindly to drugs, it's use as well as pushing. Yup, not even pot.

...this review having lived in Kuala Lumpur or 'Kay El' as the locals and expats call it for over 2 and a half years.
Im starting this review by saying that anybody coming for a holiday to Sout East Asia, needs to stop off in KL, but probably no more than for a few days.
Where to start.. You arrive into what can only be described as a spaceship style airport, and are immediately ferried through customs to the departure hall, where you can easily find ... ...is here that if you have prebooked a Hotel your driver should be waiting for your arrival.
If you havent got a hotel, the cheapest and simplest way to get into the city centre is via the KL Express, straight to the train station in KL.
This costs 40 Ringgit (when i last went 18 months ago) and takes around 30 mins. Other than that a taxi should be no more than 80 Ringgit. (Ringgit is the Malay currency and around 60 Ringgit equals £10)

we went to KL in spring this year, following recommendation from my father. we did not know quite what to expect, having never been to S.E Asia before. On arriving you are greeted by a fabulous airport, and then travel several miles through old plantation land, which is currently being transformed into 'Cyberjaya', where hi-tech businesses are being encouraged to settle, and a range of housing.
KL itself is bustling, and admittedley is grubby, and ... ...still has an air of times passed, even though Malaysia, and its capital are very into electronics etc. It is quite easy to find old colonial buildings, some of which house restaurants and bars. You should not miss Chinatown (Petaling Street) at night when the stalls are set out, it is an experience, haggling over the price of something which may only be costing you 83 pence!
If you get the chance go and eat at The Kapitan's Club (35 Jalan Ampang). ...
