Advantages: beautiful part of the country, superb views and great history Disadvantages: quite far to travel
...Who exhibition would be at Lands End for several months. My partner is a huge Doctor Who fan and really wanted to visit the exhibition. I remember visiting as a child but thought it would be great to visit again. It seems like a very long way to go but is definitely worth the long drive.

It is situated approximately 9 miles west of Penzance and is surrounded by some spectacular views of the atlantic ocean. Its vey popular and today is one of the most visited outdoor attractions in Cornwall; I've visited every time I've been to Cornwall. As already mentioned the main reason that most people visit lands end ... ...southern mainland. The signpost at lands end pointing towards john o groats and new york has to be one of the most famous signposts in the world, and is popular with tourists - people often queue to have their photo taken in front of it. On a clear day it is possible to see the Isles of Silly on the horizon, however I've never been able to see them because the weather tends to be quite poor and the seas rough. Advantages: Attractive rugged landscape and plenty of walks available Disadvantages: Although a cafe is available take food with you, Attractions/shops can be expensive
Lands End is an extremely attractive virtually unspoilt location at the very edge of mainland Britain. In fact it is the most westerly point on a rugged landscape looking out into the vast Atlantic Ocean.
Probably it's most known landmark is the signpost detailing distances to John O Groats and New York
On the edge of the cliffs is a farm with stone shelters within enclosures protecting the sheep, goats and pigs from the harsh atlantic winds, with ... ...Who and RNLI and a Lands End clothing shop. There is a discount available for those that visit all exhibitions, but at the time of my visit none of these were open.
Additionally there is a trawler to explore and a childrens play area.
This is one place where it is the location and not the attractions that are important.
I love Lands End and at 2 hours drive from where I live is certainly a place I will visit again - in warmer weather! ...

Advantages: Sense of adventure, lots to do Disadvantages: Remote, takes a while to get here
Lands End is not exactly what you expect- the land peels away down cliffs into the wide open sea. But it is much more than just a place where land meets the sea. It is a place of great adventure, where many start or finish their cross counrty adventures.
Apart from this, it is a place of great remoteness, far out on the western point of the Penwith peninsula. You may expect there to be nothing here, just a sign and a car park perhaps, but there ... ...oppurtunity for cliff walking near Lands End. Head north along the coast path, and you will find Sennen Cove, a small village with a truly spectacular 2 mile long beach. There are a few shipwrecks to spot along the way, at the bottom of the cliffs! It really is worth it, there is no other sight quite like it.
To get to Lands End, from anywhere, just follow the M5 to Exeter, then the A30, until the road ends! There are local buses from Penzance numbered ...

Advantages: Good for Walking Disadvantages: Paying for parking
I think this place is great if you like walking, as there are many shipwrecks you can see along the coastal path, and wildlife, other than that there is not alot to do there especially for children there are a few shops that sell gifts and memorable things, and a Doctor Who convention which i have never been to. I think they have a small play area for the children but that is pretty much it. I suppose It is worth going just to say you been there. ...
