Happy Landings ______________ If arrival at this airport is your first entry into Las Vegas - then it is certainly consistent with Vegas being unlike anywhere else in the world. I have driven to Vegas from LA & Sand Francisco - but nothing could beat the neon feast that meets your eyes as you approach ... ...and the casinos that line takes your breath away. We flew in on a particularly clear night - the pilot advised us he could see Vegas's lights from about 100 miles out! Some passenger went for a look )pre9/11 steel doors) and confirmed it was clear as a bell. The setting of several miles of the most illuminated manmade structures set within a vast and almost unpopulated desert landscape presents the kind of view I can imagine might come from a morphine ...

Advantages: easy access and plenty of room Disadvantages: not much within it
The Mccarran airport in Las Vegas is something your not to bothered about when you first arrive because the whole thing about being in there is the strip itself.
But the first thing that you notice when you land is a small area that looks like a tiny casion including the slots and change machines. Its very easy to get aroung the airport but the whole thing is quite spaced out.
When your coming into the airport the lights all around make it look ... ...the las vegas area.
To get your baggage is not to much of a problem but the walk is not fun and then you have to try and find a taxi to get to your hotel.
When you get to the taxi bay outside the humidity hits you and you need to find the taxi asap.
When you leave Las Vegas and got to the airport to get on your plane you find out that there is little in the airport to do apart from a few slots. There is little in quality food or resturants within ...
