Advantages: Loads to do, great prices, service, scenery Disadvantages: Very hot in summer
“Why are you going to Las Vegas? – You don’t gamble, do you?” Questions such as these were frequently aimed in my direction when I told friends that I was going on holiday to the entertainment capital of the world – other than Blackpool, that is. Let’s get one thing straight right now: you do not have to be a gambler to visit Las Vegas. There are plenty other things to do in Vegas then gamble – you name it and you can probably do it. When I first ... ...For those not familiar with Las Vegas, the number of hotels in the city is phenomenal. Most of the major ones, such as New York-New York, have a strong theme element. For example, the Sahara is very Arabic, the Imperial Palace oriental and the Orleans French. These are no ordinary hotels. The Las Vegas hotels have superb facilities. Because they make the majority of their money from gamblers, the room rates are extremely reasonable in the city which ...

Advantages: Extremely Cheap Disadvantages: May Make You Put On A Few Kilo's
I went to Las Vegas for the first time in Mach 2000, and was astounded by the prices. For only $64 per room, per night, it was amazing value. Air conditioned rooms, extremely comfortable, with only the basic needs. All the attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. I stayed at the Excalibur Hotel. I would recommend it to anyone.
The food, compared to the UK is very affordable. For around $10 you can have a 4 course meal. It's one of their ...

The best hotel in Vegas ? Undoubtedly - the Luxor. First point - you HAVE to stay on the strip (i.e. the main thoroughfare where all the casinos are) and you HAVE to stay in one of the big hotels. That is what Vegas is all about. The Luxor is great: it's shaped like a huge Egyptian pyramid; the lifts go diagonally up the edges; the rooms are all kitted out in hieroglyphics - and best of all (like all the Vegas hotels) its dirt cheap. We booked on ... ...room for $30 a night. The casino is great there too. One possible disadvantage is its location - it's right on the SOuth end of the Strip. But that was never a problem for us. If you have a little more money to throw around, the Bellagio looked fantastic. But it's not cheap. Incidentally, some of the best food is at the Rio which is a bit out of the way but has the largest buffet you've ever seen. ...

Advantages: Cheap hotels are easy to find Disadvantages: Travel agents won't help you find them
I have been to Vegas seven times now - it's an amazing city that is unlike any other on Earth. But I still can't get over how much some people pay for their hotel. Most people travelling from the UK are on an overpriced package - I never buy packages, always separately so I can plan it myself. The best part of staying in Vegas is that the hotel rooms are DIRT CHEAP! Somehow this never gets passed on in a package. I usually try to stay in a different ... ...recently, I booked a room at Treasure Island, for $79 on the internet. Upon arrival I started chatting to the person at check-in, and they managed to give me a strip-view room for $60 - not bad for that hotel. If I am doing Vegas on the cheap, I hit Circus Circus, which has recently been totally renovated. The place has a fun atmosphere, and the biggest buffet in Vegas (although the Rio has the best). If you check their website, rooms are often as ...

Ive been to vegas about 5 times now and i never tire of it. Flying there used to cost a lot of money but with the number of airlines flying there now and the special offers you can find if you look you can get a good price. It takes about 7-8hours from manchester to chicago and another 3 and a half hours to Vegas from there. Of course this is only one of many combinations but it gives you a guideline to work from when calculating your distance. Being ... ...This is ok apart from the fact that you are not allowed within a mile of the machines! Not that its possible to even play without being near a machine you still get moved if you are within about ten metres or so. This can be awkward when you are going to your hotel room - you need to know which route to take, going through machines is not allowed, and the rules are very strict! Most hotels have a sort of red carpet which you follow to get around ...

I have now been to Las Vegas 11 times which for an Englishman is probably I feel impressive.
Over the years that I have been going , Vegas has progressed considerably for a pure Gambling Mecca to a family orientated resort with Gambling.
During this time I have stayed at many of the big Hotels , from average standard through to some of the top resorts. Please note , it is overall cheaper to stay Sunday Night - Thursday Night rather than Friday ... ...only exceptions are during conventions such as Comdex in November when even during the week , room rates can be 3,4 or 5 times normal rates.
Unless this article was to go on for pages and pages , it is difficult to do the place justice. Hotels I have stayed in
Mirage :- Part of Mirage Resorts , in course of being taken over by the MGM group. Undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Vegas but can be expensive at certain times.

Las Vegas - WOW !!!
The only way to describe it. From the moment your plane comes into land at McCarron Airport and you see the billions of lights on the Vegas 'Strip'below - you know you are in another world.
Believe me, this is NO Blackpool. It is a succession of wonferful 'firsts' - your first time at the gaming tables, your first fabulous meal in a Five Star Restaurant, your first top class show - Vegas if FIRST when it comes to glitz, showbiz ... ...came to Vegas to play the slots, sit at the Roulette table - no that was not for me. But I have sampled the experience.
Many first timers speak of Vegas as 'over the top', sleazy and moneygrabbing. Probably true, in a way. I know my first time made it difficult to get 'up' for the rest of my journey in the US. Vegas made Los Angeles seem dull in comparison. San Francisco was nice, but, well it was just not Vegas!
Gambling pays for all the extras, ...

Oh how I love Las Vegas.Don't think it's like Blackpool as it certainly isn't .I went there in 1999 and stayed in the four star Ballys. To cut a long story short we had our room upgraded to a grand suite.
We nearly fell through the floor when we entered the room. All we could see was this magnificent bed which could house three or four people. not that I'm into sharing of course.
Then there was the oversized T.V and the computer with internet.
... ...middle was a Jacuzzi for three or four people.
It was open plan so you don't have any privacy. Then there was two vanity units his and hers. There was an hairdryer , free shampoos , mouth wsh, bubble bath.
A seperate room for the toilet, another one for the shower, then there was the bidet.
The hotels are all enormous.
We had about forty shops in the mall about 9 restaurants.
Of course nearly hotel has a casino and you can't resist having a go.

LAS VEGAS
Its now been our third visit in as many years, I love it.
Most people, when Las Vegas is mentioned, think of gambling, vice, gansters, and that stupid american police reality show.
How many people thing of: Celine Dion, Elton John, Segfrid and Roy!! and Star trek, the circus, treasure island, paris, new york, roller coasters, I could go on and on and on, and probably will do.

Gambling
Entertainment
Excitement
The gambling is what makes money for this oasis in the desert, more money goes through this 'small' city than 2/3s of all the countries of the world, It is this that attracts so many bvisitors from all over the world to try their luck [I have consistently come back with more money than when I went....were only talking 2-3 hundred dollars here by the way] Stalking ...

Las Vegas IS the Entertainment capital of the World. No doubt about it, but it offers much more than you can possibly imagine, including a few inches to you waistline if you are not too careful!
