Advantages: location, easy to park, small airport so not confusing Disadvantages: price of car parking
Having switched to the small low cost airlines in the past year, I have noticed that they operate often from smaller airports. And a good thing too, in my opinion.
I flew with Jet2 to Amsterdam a couple of weekends ago. Jet2 is the new low cost airline operating out of Leeds Bradford-very welcome to any of us from Yorkshire who have had to go to Liverpool, manchester or Birmingham prior to this. I'd never visited this airport before and was amazed ... ...far from Leeds or Bradford and is served by a bus from Leeds train station several times a day. You drive up and park literally just outside the terminal building. There's plenty of short term and long term parking. It's just a step into the terminal building. I would caution people that it's expensive to park at Leeds unless you are long-term parking. My parking cost £12 for the first 24 hours and £10 for each day after that. Considering I was flying ...

Advantages: 10 - 15 mins drive from City Centre on a bus Disadvantages: Management have cloth ears
With all the recent development at LBA, it is certinly gearing itself up for more passengers, its a realpity it has blocked off the views from the upstairs cafe over the runways and apron, which used to be one of its more endearing facets.
Using either Amsterdam, Brussels, London or Paris as a hub you can travel the World from LBA, I recently flew to Florida via London from LBA and it was certainly great to be able to check in your baggage at LBA ... ...did email my views as a local Councillor and a Member of the Institute of Transport Administration to the Management of LBA, but I havent even had the courtesy of a reply from them, which is a shame..
So management aside LBA is an excellent startin point to your journey, it is easily accessible from all of Yorkshire and with regular connections to Leeds and Bradford City centres LBA is the airport for locals..

Advantages: Small, Easy Check-in, Low cost fares Disadvantages: Rise in car parking charges
Leeds Bradford is a nice small airport with easy access, there is a regular bus service from Leeds City Centre or onsite car parking. All the check-in desks are together and easy to access with television screens around with desk numbers. Once through the check-in gate there are various facilities: a cafe which does breakfasts, snacks etc. A bar, Deli-France and a newsagents as well as Duty Free. There are plenty of public facilites such as toilets, ... ...from Leeds, we have used Ryan Air on a number of occasions and the fares are great, we have been to Dublin for £3. Jet 2 have now started flying and they have some good destinations e.g. Amsterdam, Faro.
The only draw back I have found recently is the on-site car parking. The minimum charge for 3 days was £12 which was £4 per day. I was shocked to discover that it had more than doubled last time to £25 minimum charge. I had budgeted for the £12. ...

Advantages: Small and comfortable, not confusing Disadvantages: Doesn't fly to USA and other destinations
I like this place - as far as airports go. I mean, no - one likes waiting but this place makes it less irratable and more comfortable. It is smaller than Manchester which is both good and bad. it is good because it means its quieter and more pleasant but bad because it flys to less places. It has a lovely little pub called the Tight Yorkshireman or something equally as funny and because there's less traffic going there, the planes are generally on ...

Advantages: small, easy access to get there Disadvantages: none
this year i flew to benidorm from leeds/bradford airport. this was the first time i had been to this airport as i usually fly from manchester, even though leeds/bradford is a lot nearer for me to get to.
Thsi is quite a small airport comapred to all the big ones like manchester and luton. The good point about it been small is that there are no long queue's to queue in whilst you check in. And i hate queuing as well, so i was pleased about that.
... ...taxi or bus if you live in the leeds or bradford area's or around there. It took me about 20 minutes to get there in the car.
Whilst checking in the staff did not say much apart from how much luggage you got, so can't really say that they was friendly though.
There are plenty of car park spaces at the airport, and security guards were walking around keeping an eye on the cars, which makes it safe to leave your car there.
Taxi's wait outside the ...
