Advantages: Lovely, Clean, Quite Disadvantages: Hilly walk to town
...We as a family visited Lindos in October 2004, we where their as a party of 18 people including young children and elderly. Lindos was our chosen destination to get married.
Why Choose Lindos:
We choose Lindos due to its lovely scenery, Cost effective, Transfer for Airport to Lindos
This can be a little scary, as the driver's batter along these long and open roads with not a care in the world. Or so it appears. It takes about 45/55 mins to get ... ...with walking difficulties. Lindos Offers:
Lindos is all focused around one area; we referred to this as the down town. Not as bad as it seems. It's just that in order to get to the town you had to navigate a rather hilly road, tho there was the option to get a free bus down, (set times),and of course you could jump in a taxi for this too.
Once in the town it's an amazing place to be, you are greeted with bars, restaurants, novelty shops, crepe ...

...old Sea Captains houses that Lindos is famous for. Be prepared though because Greece is basic, very basic but we did have a lrage fridge/freezer and kettle which was great. The apartment had two rooms one with two single beds and a baby crib and the other room had three single beds and the usual bedroom furniture. It was apparent that someone had tried very hard to make the apartment "homely" which was a really nice touch. The only slight drawback ... ...to be aware of in Lindos - it's hot and when I say hot I mean hot, we did go in August (not the hottest month that's July) so were expecting good weather but I dont think we had a day where the temperature was under 30 degrees C. As soon as the sun came up in the morning it was hotter than you can imagine and there' s no respite from the heat. One day it even reached 43, which is not unusual.
Weddings - many people are choosing Lindos as a destination ...

Advantages: Quiet enough but with the option of a more lively time. The food, the people, the beaches and the weather, Disadvantages: Hills may not be suitable for some people. The weather, sometimes it can be TOO hot.
...not to say how good Lindos is just in case too many people start going there! I returned to Rhodes after visiting Lindos 10 years ago, I'd always said I'd go back, I just wish I'd not left it so long. The village can only be described as picturesque, set into a hillside and made up of small, white, flat roofed houses, most of which are hundreds of years old. Overlooking the village is the ancient Acropolis, well worth a trip upto, though walking ... ...fantastic.
The beaches in Lindos are pure sand, though the fact that Lindos seems to be about 5 degress hotter than anywhere else in Rhodes means that walking to the sea is like walking on hot coals. There's always a sunbed for hire and the beaches aren't too crowded either.
Although the Village gives a sleepy, relaxed, impression, there's some damn good bars in the village, though most shut at about 1am due to the noise controls, try Antika, just ...

Advantages: Absolutely Beautiful and Idyllic Disadvantages: A Tad Hilly
We stayed at The Lindos Gardens Hotel/Complex in Lindos In June 2005. Which is approximately 10/15 minutes walk down a fairly steep hill to Lindos town and (depending on who you're with and their walking abilities) about 20/25 minutes walk back up the hill from Lindos Town. (I advise that people with walking difficulties or Asthma problems may want to avoind this destination.

Here you'll find numerous buses which will take you to any number of places on the Island. Across the road/square from the bus stops is a kiosk from which you buy your tickets for the destination you wish to go to by bus. The kiosk is among a couple of supermarkets, which are very well priced. For example, at our hotel it'd cost 1 Euro for 500ml of mineral water, ...

Advantages: Great for Culture and sight Seeing Disadvantages: Can be very Windy
Lindos is excellent, we stayed in the Lindos Memories just outside of the town, Lindos town was a short Taxi ride away only a couple of Euro's. Lindos is a very old town, very hilly with narrow winding streets, with the Acropolis at the top of the cliff. We actually had our best holiday ever in Lindos. The weather was extremely hot as it is in the south of the Island, and it can be very windy. Be very careful during the day as you can burn very easily ... ...There are many restaurants in Lindos Most have roof Terraces with views across the bay and up to the Acropolis. Our favourite reastaurant was a Mexican restaurant in Lindos itself, excellent Traditional Mexican food. During the day Lindos town is flooded with coach loads of visitors on day trips to see the Acropolis, so I would recommend that you visit the Acropolis 1st thing on a morning before the coaches arrive, and save wondering round the streets ...

...the world to visit. However, Lindos breaks that rule.
This little town is totally pedestrianised as its streets are very narrow. The streets all have grape vines covering them and this keeps all the stalls, locals and tourists cool from the sun. The town is overlooked by the magnificent Acropolis, which dominates the area and is an interesting afternoons entertianment.

The town has three beaches to choose from, all lovely. The water is clear, clean and warm(ish).
This is the most delightful place I have ever visited and plan to definately go back. ...

I travelled to Lindos in August 2004 to be best man at a wedding. The wedding took place outside a small church in one of the bays.
The whole area of lindos has some amazing scenery and is a must for anyone wishing to relax and enjoy everything from the sun, sea, sand, beer and a must of all the Acropolis.
The Acropolis is partially in ruin, however there is currently a project to have this amazing structure built again. A must to try is the pancakes ( Crepes) were you can have a variety of toppings from sweet to savoury.

Advantages: Well placed-Friendly-Ideal for mixed age groups Disadvantages: Daytime influx of coach trippers.Difficult access for those with mobility problems
I have recently returned from Lindos on the Greek island of Rhodes, where my family (Me,OH,DD10,DS8.& DNiece24)and I had a wonderful holiday. We have been to the same destination 2 years in a row (previously unheard of!)

Since Lindos is so famous it is a popular destination for coach trips from other resorts.Early in the season this isn't such a problem but in high season you won't be 'getting away from it all!' However ,the coach parties rarely stray from the beaten path, being led around by their guides in little flocks. They are easily avoided with a little forethought.
Should you get tired of incoming coach trippers during the day,Lindos ...

...now I have been to Lindos in Rhodes and I must say it is a hard resort to beat. Because it is an ancient port, it is very picturesque, no cars are permitted in town, indeed there is no room for cars through the narrow streets. The town cannot really be expanded upon because of its location which makes it very quaint. There are many bars and taverna's and the music stops at 1am. After that, if you wish to dance the night away, there are soundproofed ...

Advantages: A full and varied holiday location that I would recommend to anyone. Disadvantages: Dangerous rental vehicles.. If in doubt don't drive it.
I went to Lindos eariler this year. I have to say that it is the best holiday I have ever had. Lindos is a perfectly charming town. The streets are narrow and traffic free. The shops are many and varied. The locals are the friendliest I have ever met! The nightlife is great, but not to noisy. There are only a couple of clubs that have a late license. Don't worry about which apartment to go to. They are all ideally located. Don't be fooled to think ... ...and fun but Falaraki is just for the kids. Which is fine, it keeps them out of Lindos. The best thing is the cheap restaurants, I ate out every night! Car and Bike rental is cheap and plentiful but don't go for the cheapest option. Often the cheapest rental bike and cars are extremely dangerous. I know this from experience. Be careful and have fun! ...
