After recently reviewing The London Aquarium, I thought it might be a good idea to have The London Eye listed next door so to speak. Both The Aquarium and The Eye are within a strolls distance away from each other along the South Bank and though its not exactly a cheap day out, its something quite memorable and worth the time. The London Eye is situated on the South Bank of the River Thames and is just 5 minutes walk from Waterloo Station.

The creators of the London Eye were husband and wife David Marks and Julia Barfield and they wanted to create an exciting new way to view London and the London Eye was created.
It took six years to turn the London Eye into what it is today an amazing landmark which can be seen as you fly into London Heathrow.

Each capsule can carry a maximum of 25 passengers and there are 32 capsules that create the London Eye this is to represent the number of London Boroughs but 13 you will discover has been missed out.

...still beautiful. The look of london from the air was lovely. tip. take an A-Z up with you to help identify the landmarks. The second time i went on was with a couple of friends visiting london from america. We hadn't prebooked the tickets and this was mid july so the only time we were able to get on was in the evening. However i feel this only enhanced the pleasure as we got the goldeny evening sun which was oh so gorgeous. The second time was just ... ...take an american.
The london eye is in london on the south side of the river, just look up and walk in the direction of the big wheel! You can't miss it!!

Oh, another tip; don't look out of the end panes of glass, they're a bit bendy and distorty and make your eyes go weird!! ...

The London Eye took six years to be built and is often referred to as The Millennium Wheel because it was built to mark a new millennium. The London Eye is fairly central in the City of London and can be easily reached by public transport as both Westminster and Waterloo ... ...can book tickets for the London Eye on-line, by an automated phone-line, or at The County Hall which is opposite the entrance for the London Eye. You are advised to arrive 30 minutes before your 'flight time.
We bought our tickets online and collected them from the County Hall about half an hour before our flight time.
An adult ticket costs £11 and a children’s ticket is £5.50. You can choose from a selection of ticket options which include a river ...

...the Internet Site for the London Eye, as I knew that was close to The Houses Of Parliament. The Web Site gave us all the information need, from pictures of the views to all the travel information needed. All the prices were available to see for all of the different types of Flights you can take. (Flights being Rides). I could give you the list of all of these but why? When you can visit the site yourself right? Londoneye.com.
They were doing a special ... ...fairly reasonable price for a London Attraction, as it did last over 30 Minutes. So we booked the Tickets which we were able to pick up at the Ticket Office right outside the London Eye the very next day. We only had to queue for 5 minutes for the tickets.

...was a point on the London eye when I realised that I was in a perspex Kinder egg dangling over the Thames with at least another 13 minutes to go before my feet touched the ground. This, combined with the tourists having a domestic over photo taking made me sit down and contemplate what on earth I was doing up there.
We really need to find a new religion!
The website for this giant folly is great, really informative and easy to navigate. It is found ... ...talking about let me fill you in. This was the Millenium project that succeeded - and it wasn't even a Millenium project because the competition had no winner. The architects Mr and Mrs Marks and Barfield respectively decided to go ahead with their superlative ferris wheel and British Airways spotted a good thing and became partners. It currently rakes in a fortune for them.

...cry? I went on the London Eye!
Firstly let me explain why this is a big deal for me. As you may have already guessed I have a problem with heights. I am scared stiff of what I perceive to be ‘unsafe’ heights. This means that I can stand on the top of St Paul’s Cathedral and look over the wall with no problem at all, as I feel completely safe up there. On the other hand I can get about four rungs up a ladder (on a good day) and I am bordering on ... ...go on the British Airways London Eye in the first place.
We were going to down to stay with a friend in London to see the Moody Blues at the Royal Albert Hall (sorry Offy!) and he asked if he should book tickets for the Eye. He has a terrible fear of heights and he had already been on twice and enjoyed it so I figured that if he could do it I could. The other main factor was that I know Dave would enjoy it more if I was with him, bless him.
