The queue for the Wheel was very long though. But
one can't really complain, considering it is world famous and of course there would a long
queue. However, it is always better to book your tickets or order them as you get better prices and packages, especially for the family, and you don't have to worry about queing for ANOTHER queue!
Anyway, the queues are quite long but when I was

system in how to regulate the queues and when you
buy the tickets, you ahve to specify the time
in which you are going on.....e.g.. 3pm and therefore
that entitles you to queue for that time. So if
you have a different time ticket, you aren't allowed to cue unless your time has been called over the tanoy!
Therefore the queues seem more bearble than the
usual slog to get on the ride.
Later on, ...

The london eye, one of the millennium projects along with the infamous dome and bridge and possibly the only successful one. Towering above the cityscape and reaching a height of 450 feet, this 30 mins flight is not that bad. The British Airways London Eye is the tallest structure in London and looks just like a large Ferris Wheel. It is called the British Airways London Eye because British Airways have sponsored this attraction since 1996.

I always find the queue here, although sometimes long, does move quickly. ...history and details of the London Eye. If you don't know about it, well, where have you been? All I will say is that it genuinely adds something to the capital and graces the bank of the Thames far more than the incumbent opposite on the north bank, the Houses of Parliament.
But just how easy is it to visit, particularly during the school holidays, especially with a five year old and two year old in tow? Why go? Is it worth the effort?

There are other packages, such as the "Cupids Capsule" and other such romantic slush, where for £269 you get served champagne and chocs in your own capsule. Personally, I'd sooner spend that sort of money on football, beer, etc, but I digress.
Anyway, I went for the basic Eye Flight for midday but ...

...the millennium dome, it's the London Eye that is going to be the success story of the millennium.
I rode the Eye on a rainy day in spring and even then it was absolutely breathtaking. The views are absolutely amazing, and as there were only about a dozen people to a car there was no overcrowding and everybody got a really good view. The London Eye is an enjoyable and exciting couple of hours out....I say a couple of hours because the queues are massive.
In the queue you wait for a very long time and go up a walkway into a room with a green background. Advantages: Great views. Value for money. Easy to get to. Disadvantages: Needs a guide. Could be higher?
As someone who regularly visits London I always get the sense that I will never know it properly. I know separate areas well and I can navigate between them easily on the tube but I never seem to be able to connect the different parts together. Is Clapham north of Balham? Is Kensington west of Soho? The London Eye allows a visitor to do this, as well as providing great views of a city that has few other lofty vantage points, and none so central.
... ...but when compared to other London attractions is undoubtedly worth the money. The queue looked enormous but in fact moved remarkably quickly. I was ascending the eye within half an hour of arriving. This appears to be due to a very efficient staff, who maintain a quick flow of people, even telling slower individuals to get a move on! Once on board there is a relaxed atmosphere, with 20 or so people easily fitting into the spacious interior. Some ...

Last weekend I went to London and of course wanted to take a flight with the famous London Eye. First of all: Yes, it is worth doing it!
Facts
The London big wheal was sponsored by BA. This might explain, why you call it a flight with the London Eye and not a ride! Originally, it was created specially for the entrance in the new century by the architects David Marks and Julia Barfield. The project took about 6 years to be completed, but that clearly ... ...fly right up over the London skyline up to 135 metres. That’s double the height of the prater wheel in Vienna. And I thought, that was high! The London big wheel is indeed within the 5 highest “buildings” in London.
Flight
The flight itself took 30 minutes, that pass very quickly, as the view is fantastic. You can see a few kilometre over Londons centre and the area around the Themse from the top. Booking
I assume, it is much more quieter now ...

Advantages: Wonderful views of London Disadvantages: Bad weather would spoil views
For a unique experience in London you can't beat a trip on the London Eye. Admittedly I was apprehensive, as a person who is scared of fairground rides, would I be able to cope with being carried hundreds of feet in the air in a glass capsule? ...wanted to go on the London Eye since it first opened but didn't have the chance till last December for my 14th birthday. Being last December I won't quite remember all of it.

The London Eye was something i was excited about when i first heard about it. Then i heard that it cost £7.50 for a ride and was a bit put off. Dont be. It takes 32mins to rotate (at about walking pace) and is well worth it. You get an amazing view of the river and the rest of London and on a clear day you can see for miles.
