Advantages: Easy to get to Disadvantages: Expensive
...waste of time. The London Eye is frankly appalling, not only do you have to queue for hours to get even near the ticket office, the prices at extremely high (family of 2 adults and a child will be about £25), and once more the ‘flight’ only lasts 30minutes. We took our flight at dusk, which was NOT a good idea as almost nothing of London could be seen – apart from the lights of London City Airport in the distance. Each ‘capsule’ ... ...in daylight, the view around London would be fantastic. There was also the provision of an ‘air-sickness’ area, where, if the need arose you could disgorge yourself into a bag. However, the ride was so smooth I don’t think anyone should find this necessary. The brochure promised an ‘in flight’ commentary, but alas there was none. You can have to opportunity of having your photo done on board the eye – setting you ...

I chose to see The London Eye in the nightfall. I caught the 9.00 train from Salisbury’s Platform 4. Went through Andover, Crewkern, Basingstoke Wimbledon, Vauxhall & Clapham Junction. We stopped at Waterloo (named after the famous battle) where Euro-Star is, & walked along South Bank to the Millennium Bridge, there was a chilly breeze coming off the river. Saw “Damage” the group filming for their latest video. For all you old fogies out there saying ... ...like Regents or Victoria. The London Transport Museum is in Covent Garden, we watched an entertainer juggle knives over a boy who was lying down on the floor. He also did trickery with a unicycle & fire; there were quite a number of people watching him. There is a merry-go-round at Covent Garden & lots of little shops, & a café; There’s also a enclosed roof so it’s good for when it rains. We stopped off at Starbucks café on the way to the Eye; you ...

Advantages: Looks spectacular Disadvantages: Must book in advance
Went up to the London Eye today as it was a really bright but oh so cold sunny day, and I thought that we would be able to see for miles. Unfortunately everybody else had the same idea and ther were huge queues for standby tickets. I found it very difficult to get any sort of information about which queue to join, whether or not you could book in advance. However, the Eye itself looks great, really spectacular. I have learned my lesson though, you ...

...booked to go on the London Eye on 21.8.00. Booking was long and complicated but the end result was worth it. I am wheelchair bound and this makes a difference I'msure
We, the whole party, were treated so well and everything was made easy. The gondola was spacious and only had 18 people in. The views were fantastic. We were fortunate enough to have marvellous weather.
The Eye photo taken of each group was good, large, well presented and only £3.99. ...

Advantages: Amazin view Disadvantages: Long queues
The London Eye is situated in the centre of London, the capital city of the United Kingdom, and is a place surrounded by amazing scenic attractions like itself. The area around it is buzzing with tourists, local people and business people, it is buzzing to such an extent that you can feel it right away and get taken right into this rich atmosphere. The amazing thing about London Eye, is that if all this is a bit too much for you, or you want a slight ... ...the other main attractions in London lit up. It was picturesque beyond belief. However, I would advise you to book in advance and prepare for some possible long queuing, as when I went there was quite a lot of chaos in the queueing system and had to wait for quite a long time before finally getting on the Eye. But the view is definately worth the wait. ...

...ascent more and more of London could be seen – Big Ben, Buckingham Palace. Once at the top the sight was actually quite impressive – being so high and viewing all of London. It very quickly seemed to be over and I was off.
Was the 2.5+ hours waiting worthwhile – yes I think so. Be warned though when I left the Eye had been booked solidly for the next couple of days – so booking by phone or online is probably advisable!
It ...

A HUGE FERRIS WHEEL?- Basically yes it is a huge ferris wheel but it is really a great feat of engineering and bare in mind not all ferris wheels have views over the whole of central London. WHAT CAN YOU SEE - What you would expect to see especially on a clear day up to 25miles. Great views of westminster houses of parliment , bukingham palace ,St.Pauls. As a tip i would by a ariel map they offer when queing it is an extra £2 on an already steep ... ...not just buildings on top of buildings.
The Pod- This is the oval shaped glass you go in , it is spacious and can fit about 20-25 people with seating in the centre comfortably , you can see all the way around apart from the floor which is not glass which i think is a shame. How long does it take- Definiately long enough , on a nice day expect to be queeing for 20mins to get tickets and then another 20mins to get on the ride and then the duration ...

The London eye is a fantastic attraction! the views are great, the prices are more than reasonable and the whole experiance just really is phenominal. When we first arrived at the eye, we thought that we would be waiting a while, as we have reletives thet have had had to que for the best part of an hour. we actually didnt have to wait at all, we were just straight on without any fuss! quick, simple and easy. As i'v said above, you can see for miles ... ...'gerkin', and of course, the London Eye itself. The Wheel is roughly 135 meters tall, and weighs a whopping 2100 tonnes!!! That is the equivilent of 1272 black cabs! The price is brilliant, at just £15 per adult, £7.50 per child under 16, and even children under 5 go free!
All the staff were great! Polite, friendly, helpful and generally a good laugh(haha!!)
To sum the London Eye up, it is a great experiance, and i think anyone visiting London ...

I would recommend anyone visiting London to make time for a trip on the London Eye. Just make sure you book in advance to avoid the queues! It takes ages to book on the telephone, but not as long as it would to wait in line.
Once on the ride is smooth, you hardly know you're moving. I took two children under five and neither was afraid at all. We went just before dusk, the sky was clear and the view of London was amazing.
£7.50 may sound expensive ...

Advantages: Lets you see the sights of London and plan your day out. Disadvantages: Only works well if the weather is half decent.
The London Eye, situated on the banks of the Thames (in London obviously!) was one of the many ideas to come to fruition I believe to help celebrate the Millenium. It is a massive big wheel, but with many more carriages for people to ride in that hold a large number of passengers. It is also good for letting you see the many sights of London, which is good for letting you plan the rest of your day or however long you plan to remain in London. Of ... ...as otherwise you can't really see anything much past the other side of the river. It travels a lot slower than normal big wheels, and takes (if my memory serves me right) around 40 minutes or so to complete one full circuit. Its carriages are made almost entirely of glass, apart from the bit you stand on. This then maximises what you can see, although is not good for the fainthearted as at one point just as you are nearing the end it actually looks ...

This is the best attraction in London! Don't go expecting to walk on though! at the moment you can only book for a couple of days ahead. Call up and book by phone or go and queue. But it's really worth it, don't be put off by the queues to get on, they go down really fast. Once you're on the ride it is 35 mins of pure fascination! It may stop from time to time, don't worry this is just to load wheelchairs etc. Which means you may get longer! The ...

...and the misses went to London on a day trip.
We got the train down there from our home in Essex which took about 3/4 hour and set about our day.
We had a good day walking about looking at the sites and fighting our way down Regent Street with all the Christmas shoppers.
I've always fancied going on the BA London eye but the last time I went to London it had just been open and the queues was a joke so it's put me off.

We walked down there, it was about 6pm at night. The sky was black and all of London was lit up. To our amazement there was no queue we couldn’t believe it and decided to go straight on.
We went to the county hall opposite the eye and paid our £11 each for adults and got on.
The security on the eye is very good, we were scanned and bags where checked, I guess for weapons, bombs and stuff.
