Londons finest
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
gollygumdrops
Advantages: Well run
Disadvantages: Very busy
...links are surprisingly good with London Underground serving all terminals and regional coach companies running services from every UK city pretty much hourly. Domestic flights are available on to the larger provincial airports.
Given the passenger volume Heathrow copes admirably. I have had no major parking or luggage issues at Heathrow. The airport is designed with passengers in mind. There is little to do in the airport if you are simply picking ...

Busy place.
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
robertliu84
Advantages: Large, shops
Disadvantages: Busy
London Heathrow is one of the world's most busiest airports as well as one of the largest. One of UKs main airports, it has 4 terminals, which has several airlines coming in and out from around the world. Made possible by the several number of runways.
Accesibility to the airport is also excellent. A great parking facility at each terminal for short and long term stay if you travelled by car. A bus route if you live locally. Coach parks if you have ...

Very good
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
Romy
Advantages: Good service
Disadvantages: Very big
Heathrow Airport is one of Europe´s biggest airports. In fact, it is really busy. Nearly 2 million people are taking of or are landing there. Nevertheless, there is never any chaos. I have worked at terminal 2 for 6 weeks. It was great. The staff is very kind and tries to help you. Furthermore, signs offer an optimale orientation. You don´t have any problems to find something.
Another advantage is the good connection to the tube or the bus or the ...

Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
cwhenn3
Advantages: nice once you get inside but it's hard to get in
Disadvantages: overpriced for the amount of time allowed - only three hours for £20
The Holideck is nice once you get inside, but the advance advertising you find online is a little bit deceptive. It suggests that you can use the lounge for "up to three hours before your flight," when in fact you ONLY use it for 3 hours before your flight. This may confuse some flyers.
In our case, we arrived on an overnight flight from the US, en route to Africa, with an 8-hour layover in Heathrow before another overnight flight. We understood ...

Too big but very good
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
somebodyrandom
Advantages: very clean, good disabled access
Disadvantages: too big so it is easy to get lost
Heathrow Airport is the biggest airport in the world. And of course when you get big, you also get lost. Finding your way around Heathrow Airport is nearly impossible- with four terminals and miles of walkways. There are plenty of toilets, cafes, restaurants, shops and seating Heathrow Airport caters for all types of people. The disabled access there is not bad, but with a wheelchair it is usually necessary to take the ling way round. The shops there ...

Lie it or hate it
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
lindylou
Advantages: go anywhere
Disadvantages: awkward to get to
Yes, I think you either love Heathrow or hate it.
It is one of those airports where the first time visitor can feel very lonely. There may be many a sign but seemingly never the one you want. If you want some advice you need every skill in the book to find someone with the time to stop and talk to you. There may be many shops to browse but I find them a total bore. Need a hand with your baggage? Think again.
Park your car? Yes, but you might ...

LHR is a Great Airport!
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
sunworld
Advantages: Very near to Central London
Disadvantages: It is a very large airport
...only 50 minutes from Central London by tube and they also have the Heathrow Express, which takes just 15 minutes to Paddington Station. The latter choice is quicker, albeit much more expensive (the last time I travelled it was £12.00 one way). Although the tube (London Underground system), is slightly longer, it is much cheaper and cost me the last time I travelled approx £2.50.
There is only the Piccadily line that runs from LHR, so despite there ...

It stinks.
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
lusks
Advantages: Buses take you from terminal to terminal.
Disadvantages: Litter, too crowded.
...Zealand via Singapore and then London Heathrow to Glasgow, I have to write and tell you what a mess Heathrow is.
I dread to think what other nationalities think when they arrive or depart from terminal 3, the place is cluttered, dirty and compared to the likes of Singapore it is downtrodden. Would someone please pull it forward into the 21st century. Granted there did seem to be some re-furbishment getting done at the time but that only added ...

Too big for own good
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
chrisfisherman
Advantages: Large with plenty of flights
Disadvantages: Busy
Heathrow is the worlds busiest airport and this is obvious when you are there. It is far better than Gatwick although it can be very busy at times and can get hot. The Business Class lounges at Heathrow are superb, there are a wide variety of shops and restaurants in the airport and a large number of terminals.
When it comes to picking up luggage afterr getting off a long flight the last thing you want to do is wait a long time for it to arrive. ...

Amazing
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
buchanan17
Advantages: Loads of destinations, efficient, can see Concorde take off!
Disadvantages: can be busy, planes queuing
Heathrow is a real experience. Remarkably well organised, from the way the traffic flows around the tiny area between terminals 1 to 3 through to airside. The outer reaches of the terminals can be rather claustrophobic with low ceiling s in places, but the central areas are good, though always a bit busy. terminal 4 - away from the others, is easier to reach though takes 5 mins more from the north. this can be a little warm at the wrong times, though ...

Flying with ease from Terminal 4.
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
s.garland
Advantages: Lots to do while waiting for your flight
Disadvantages: Situated away from the other terminals
Heathrow terminal 4 is situated away from the other three terminals, however access by car, rail or underground is just as easy and if you arrive by coach to the central bus station at the other terminals, you can travel FREE on the Heathrow Express to terminal 4, which takes just a few mins. The terminal itself is roomy and clean and even when checking in 3 hours prior to a flight, you will find plenty to amuse yourself with.
There is a wide range ...

Busy & Smoky
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
sailormn
Advantages: Good transportation system
Disadvantages: Smoky and unclear signage
Having arrived at Heathrow after a 13 hour flight, I found myself in a daze as to where to go. The signage in the airport terminal Two, is not as clear as I expected it to be. Going through the custom is a nightmare for some, especially foreigners like me. You need to get used to being asked more questions; about your coming to Britain, how much you have, any guarantee, etc etc. The custom officers always seem to be having a bad hair day. Maybe it ...

NOT BAD
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
PrinceCharles
Advantages: Well laid out, good shops etc.
Disadvantages: Check in can take a while
London Heathrow is one of the busiest international airport in the world! In my opinion it is a good airport but, naturally has its advantages and disadvantages. It is reasonably easy to get to and surprisingly Public transport links are good! There are currently four terminals, all are well equipped, clean, roomy and have a wide range of cafes, pubs, restaurants, book shops and duty free shops if you are flying to a destination outside of Europe. ...

Heathrow - The Best?
Review of London Heathrow (LHR) by
Gonnie
Advantages: Can't think of one
Disadvantages: Many
If Heathrow is considered the flagship of the UK, then what limited standards we set in this country. The airport is badly laid out, badly sign posted, the toilets, albeit clean, are grotty and badly maintained. There are few seating areas, unless of course you want to eat. The shops are uninspiring, busy with too few operators and long queues.
I have been to quite a few airports and I would not give Heathrow even three stars! Unfortunately, as BA ...
