Advantages: Best bed i have slept in Disadvantages: No tube station close by
...wanted to go on the London Eye this year as i thought we would get a good view of the fire works.
The hotel is of a very high standard and is kept well maintained, although we felt it was expensive for where it is situated compared to other hotels.
The bedrooms are very tastefully decorated and are quite roomy compared to other hotels. It had a queen size bed which is about the size of a double bed plus half again, the mattress was soft and comfortable ... ...one and the pillows were large and fluffy, it is the best bed i have slept in i had a thoroughly good night sleep. The room also had a shower/bath and a sofa, TV with alarm clock and telephone, iron and hairdryer, the Wardrobe space was plentiful with about 10 hangers in total.
It is a 5 - 10 minute walk to the nearest tube station which doesn't sound too bad until you have walked all the way down Oxford steet because the tube stations are undergoing ...

Advantages: Right in the heart of London - off Oxford Street, good facilities Disadvantages: Expensive. Room features, car parking, congestion charge
...what you expect for a London 4 star hotel - try and get an internet deal/last minute booking or if you are travelling on business a company deal
- Room decor - a) safety green light in the bedroom - what a nightmare!!!! You could not turn it off and it came through the bathroom green glass door and glowed in the corner of the room! A wardrobe mirror was opposite the bathroom and it bounced off the mirror into the opposite corner of the room. I moved ... ...eventually placed a towel over the light (stayed for a few minutes to see if it was a fire hazard and it wasn't) and was happy!
b) Cooling effect of the red plastic lights also in the room was annoying! One you got into bed, turned the lights off....stopped the glowing green light you then heard a cracking sound!!!!! I eventually found out when checking out that it was the plastic from the red lights cooling down!!!!!! - No parking facilities
But ...

Advantages: Nice and comfortable hotel, attractive, helpful staff, good location. Disadvantages: Rooms quite expensive (although I didn't pay the full price), over-priced drinks!
***INTRODUCTION***
You will find Marriott hotels all over the world, there is even more than one Marriott hotel in London. I stayed at the Marble Arch Marriott which was in a good location (not far from Oxford Street and Hyde Park). I did not personally choose to stay at this hotel. I spent a weekend here for a hen night and luckily got the room for a very good price. My stay here was a pleasant one and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested ... ...MARRIOTT***
From the outside this hotel does not look much, but the inside is attractive. It has 240 rooms which are on 12 floors. The room I stayed in was nice and comfortable. There was a double bed and a table with two chairs and there were good mirrors. The bathroom was a fairly good size (not big but adequate) and the bath with shower worked well. The room and bathroom were both very clean.
There was a mini bar in the bedroom and a television. ...

Advantages: convenient location near to Marble Arch underground station Disadvantages: food, surrounding environment, cleanliness of communal areas, cold showers
I wasn't impressed with the Marriott Marble Arch at all and would not recommend anyone stay there.
The room was adequate and clean, if a little on the small side and the staff on the whole were friendly and courteous, apart from the concierge who demanded that I present ID one evening before letting me back in my room when I had mistakenly locked myself out whilst putting my roomservice tray outside. I was barefoot, in my pyjamas, and quite clearly ... ...in my room. He was rude and condescending - a real "Jobs Worth".
On the subject of food... I wouldn't recommend eating here. I did so 3 times in my fortnight stay but then after that, the thought of eating more overpriced mediocre food depressed me so much that I was forced to eat out at some of the local Lebanese-owned establishments. Again, something of a mistake as the food was poor... and, being a female alone, I found the atmosphere on the ...

Advantages: Very good service and made welcome Disadvantages: Very expensive menu
I'm not one really for staying in top class hotels, but if you've got the money then I would definately recommend staying somewhere like the Marble Arch Marriott. Be warned though it is very expensive, for a weekend I spent nearly £300. At around £100 per night for a average room it does attract the higher class of customer, but there isn't as much snobbery as I'd expected from a 4 star hotel. This price includes Sky TV in the room (which themselves ... ...to the gym, pool, jacuzzi and saunas. You'd think with the price of rooms being this much that the room service and bar/restaurant prices would be reasonable. You'd be very wrong. The food was very nice but you are looking at paying around £8 for a sandwich and £3.50 for a bottle of beer.
The only complaint I would have would be the amount of non-british staff. I'm not racist but it was sometimes hard to communicate with them as their English wasn't ...
