Advantages Beautiful city, amasing history,great food, free museums and lovely parks
Disadvantages Can get very badly congested, pickpockets and can be overpriced

LONDON: A brief introdcution I have worked and lived in London all my life. My knowledge of London and its wonders has been built of years of visiting it and travelling around it. I have visited all the main "touirsty" attrractions from the Tower of London to Buckingham Palace, i have visited all the art galleries and museums from the Tate Modern to the V&A, been to endless west end shows and their theatres, i have shopped, eaten, studied and worked on famous streets and witnessed many events that have shaped London in the last few years. Advantages best pubs (ever) in London!
Disadvantages you all know where they are now!

right...my top ten London pubs, sorry it is soooo long, but there is a quick guide for each venue! Enjoy your read...might see you in one of them one day (I'll be the drunkard in the corner!) ~No 1 THE ROSE, 123 SNOWFIELDS, SE1 3ST~ ~Location~ 3 mins walk from London Bridge Station (and the Guys for any drunken mishaps!) ~Smoking~ Yes definitely, can't imagine the place will be the same when the ban comes in! ~The Rose In General~ Ok so you are walking past, maybe on your way to Bermondsey Street or SE1, and you probably glance over at The Rose, or in through the window and think nothing of it ... more

Samuel Johnson once wrote than when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life. That may be true, for indeed there are endless ways to pass the time, from museums and galleries, to cafes and restaurants, parks and walks, historical sites, famous old buildings, and of course...the shops But there's also the other side of things, the "changes" that occur to a person once they have been living in London for an extended period of time So to celebrate my 2-year anniversary of living in the Big Smoke, here's an ever-so-slightly tongue in cheek guide to "You know that you've been living in London ... more

I have lived in London all my life and have grown up loving this city. So I thought, for those who have not yet been I would share my thoughts on the sites to see in MY city!! Shopping. There are so many places in London to go shopping!! If you want to go to huge size High Street shops then your best bet is Oxford Street. To get here just get off at Oxford Circus tube station. Opposite the tube station, is the HUGE Topshop, which is the largest fashion store in the world. It also conveniently has a café for any mums who are accompanying teenage daughters. Disadvantages might be too personal, not just facts, but my experience

London through the eyes of a Dutch girl, this could get interesting. I decided to write an op, because I fell in love with London, and I have only been there once. Please note that I descibed our first day in London, the way I experienced it. You won't read any facts about London, just my view. I warned you.. Advantages great city, friendly people, a lot of "sights"

Incredible! When I was packing my suitcase for a trip to London I had few visions of this city: many people, noise and mud! But I had to ascertain that it isn´t like in my "horror-visions" - I have never visited a city like London: warm, friendly and the cleanest I´ve ever seen! Of course there were more people than in our german cities or villages; surely it´s the capital of the United Kingdom. But although there was many people, everyone of them was friendly and was (for example) able to told me the way. During the week I stayed in London I have never seen any rubbish or mud on the streets ... more

What with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations taking place in London this bank holiday weekend, I thought that I would share with you my experience of London. Now, up until the Easter bank holiday this year, I had never visited the capital of the United Kingdom, despite it being somewhere I had always wanted to visit. Whilst my review may not cover all topics (I was only in town for the weekend), I will now discuss my experience of London. Hopefully my review will help people who have never been to London before. I have a confession to make… Although I am happily married to a wonderful woman whom I love utterly and I have pretty Labrador puppy-dog snoring at my feet. I have another love in my life…. I have tried for years to force this love out of my life fearing it would get in the way of any relationship I might have. I failed miserably and now my wife has taken up this love also, even to the extent of leaving me at home at night whilst she visited her other love with her friends. I think it was Samuel Johnson that said, “When you’re bored of London, then you’re bored of life”. Well, I’m bored and I want to go home! Let me explain. I lived in London for 6 years, and managed to escape from it just over a year ago. Let me continue to explain. London is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Europe and quite possibly the world. When my dad came to stay for the weekend recently, he was dead keen to take a boat trip on the Thames. In the end, we booked a hop-on hop-off day ticket with City Cruises and had a great day out. This got me wondering whether it would be possible to see London entirely by boat. After a little research, I've decided that it's definitely do-able and here's how I'd go about it.
