Advantages: full of koalas!
Disadvantages: difficult location

...decided to go to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary as it focused pretty much solely on koalas and their cousins, and I had heard that it was a great centre that had good hands-on experiences. It was a bit of a struggle to work out how to get there without a car, but once we worked out what buses we needed, we headed over to the sanctuary. I went to Lone Pine Koala Sancutary March this year and volunteered there for a month with the animals and LOVED it, it was a great experience!!!!!!! I LOVED working with the koalas it was a dream come true!!!!!!!!! One of my highlights was holding a koala, its a great place to get hands on experience with koalas and kangaroos!!!!!! If you want to cuddle a koala and support their conservation this is the place to go. High up in the hills above Brisbane it is difficult to get to unless you drive as buses are involved but well worth it. It is one of the few places you get to hold a koala and get your all important photo taken and the money goes to a charity looking after them.
