Advantages: Good Value. Lots to see. Shows Multi-Lingual
Disadvantages: Location poor for holiday makers in the south. Poorly planned show times.

...on a day trip to Loro Park in June 2006, although the translation is Parrot Park, the main reason for my visit was the Dolphin Show and the new Orca Show that openned at the begining of June. Advantages: Amazing wildlife and shows
Disadvantages: Long journey depending on where your staying

Loro Parque is probably the best attraction on the Canary Island of Tenerife. Although the journey via coach from Puerto de Santiago took a tiring 3 and a bit hours to Puerto de la Cruz, it was well worth it. I would strongly recommend watching all of the shows around the park such as the sealions, whales, dolphins and the parrots. ...ago and saw adverts for Loro Parque (which stands for parrot park) everywhere so thought it was worth a visit although we were a bit sceptical because we thought it would be just parrots. However we were Pleasently suprised! There were all different kinds of animals (rather like a zoo) including 4 different shows. ...me into a visit to Loro Park whilst on holiday in November. I was actually surprised as I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The Park was clean and well laid out and the staff exceptionally friendly. We paid for a guided tour (it was reasonably priced) and were taken behind the scenes to see, besides other things the Orca's, Dolphins and Gorilla's, which was not only entertaining but very informative. Advantages: Easy transport, free buses
Disadvantages: Quite expensive for large family, resellers can give better price

Its not just parrots, there are many different animals and the dolphins are clearly very happy and enjoy performing. The weather is very good always. Expect to spend a whole day there, the food can be quite expensive on site, so sandwiches might be a good idea. The staff are \very helpful and seem to be determined to get the public involved. There are displays on all through the day, most are free - oh the parrots are good too - if you are into parrots! ... Read review
