Loro Parque, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

...I have been to the Loro Parque all three times I have been in Tenerife and think it is a brilliant tourist attraction and that if you are visiting you must go and visit it! Loro Parque is a cross between a massive fancy zoo, a conservation place and basically a brilliant tourist attraction (and it is advertised everywhere on the island!) Loro Parque is probably the best attraction on the Canary Island of Tenerife. Although the journey via coach from Puerto de Santiago took a tiring 3 and a bit hours to Puerto de la Cruz, it was well worth it. I would strongly recommend watching all of the shows around the park such as the sealions, whales, dolphins and the parrots. The dolphin and whale shows were amazing and I must admit that they topped those of Sea World, Orlando, Florida. Loro ...

...ago and saw adverts for Loro Parque (which stands for parrot park) everywhere so thought it was worth a visit although we were a bit sceptical because we thought it would be just parrots. However we were Pleasently suprised! There were all different kinds of animals (rather like a zoo) including 4 different shows. There was an excellent donphin and sealion shows which were exceptional , there was a parrot show in which parrots do tricks and fly around ...
...so spectacular). Tickets were 24 EUR (about £17) for adults and were available from our hotel which meant when we walked into the parque we jumped the queue and went straight in! On the way in they give you a map in your language and take your picture with parrots (which you could buy later for 6EUR (£4) on your way out. ...me into a visit to Loro Park whilst on holiday in November. I was actually surprised as I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The Park was clean and well laid out and the staff exceptionally friendly. We paid for a guided tour (it was reasonably priced) and were taken behind the scenes to see, besides other things the Orca's, Dolphins and Gorilla's, which was not only entertaining but very informative. ...I would advise anyone visiting Loro to take this option as it was excellent value and the group size was small. The amenities at the Park were very good and the place is spotless. Food and drink were on the expensive side but we expected this. Its not just parrots, there are many different animals and the dolphins are clearly very happy and enjoy performing. The weather is very good always. Expect to spend a whole day there, the food can be quite expensive on site, so sandwiches might be a good idea. The staff are \very helpful and seem to be determined to get the public involved. There are displays on all through the day, most are free - oh the parrots are good too - if you are into parrots! ...
