Advantages: a pleasant day out Disadvantages: cost and parking
...Puerto de la Cruz and Loro Parque.
The journey from the Village took just over and hour and a half, so from Las Americas or Los Christianos the drive would take around and hour. At the junction between TF1 and TF5 you will find all the road signs feature a small whale tail, parrot and dolphin symbol, this you simply follow to the park. Without it you would find it very hard to find the Park since it is in the middle of Puerto de la Cruz.
Ideally ...

Dancing Dolphins Review ofLoro Parque, Santa Cruz de Tenerifeby

Advantages: fascinating shows Disadvantages: which make me sad
...they get to know that Loro Parque is one, if not *the* attraction of the island, a huge poster welcomes them, all trolleys in the airport carry a small one. So that they won´t forget the message each bin on the island (more than 10 000 all in all) has a poster, too, showing a photo or a design of one of the animals of this small zoo.
It´s situated in Puerto de la Cruz, the well-known resort in the north of the island, in Punta Brava to be precise ...

Advantages: The cleanest animal park you will ever visit Disadvantages: May be difficult for people with limited mobility
Loro Parque is an amazing animal park. Quite simply I do not know where to start - there is so much that can be said. I am going to concentrate on the highlights of the day as there is too much to put in a single review. I hope I cover the main attractions and that you may decide to visit after reading.
We visited as part of an organised excursion with our holiday company. The visit was expensive. But, after a day at Loro Parque we decided the ...

Advantages: Good Value. Lots to see. Shows Multi-Lingual Disadvantages: Location poor for holiday makers in the south. Poorly planned show times.
...on a day trip to Loro Park in June 2006, although the translation is Parrot Park, the main reason for my visit was the Dolphin Show and the new Orca Show that openned at the begining of June.
I was travelling to Tenerife alone so it was also a solo trip to the park which I found suited me. Although there were lots of families on days out, I am not sure that I would have had such a good time if I'd had to consider other people, as I found that the ...

Advantages: Amazing wildlife and shows Disadvantages: Long journey depending on where your staying
Loro Parque is probably the best attraction on the Canary Island of Tenerife. Although the journey via coach from Puerto de Santiago took a tiring 3 and a bit hours to Puerto de la Cruz, it was well worth it. I would strongly recommend watching all of the shows around the park such as the sealions, whales, dolphins and the parrots. The dolphin and whale shows were amazing and I must admit that they topped those of Sea World, Orlando, Florida. Loro ...

Advantages: Value for money, Great for all ages Disadvantages: In the north
...ago and saw adverts for Loro Parque (which stands for parrot park) everywhere so thought it was worth a visit although we were a bit sceptical because we thought it would be just parrots. However we were Pleasently suprised! There were all different kinds of animals (rather like a zoo) including 4 different shows. There was an excellent donphin and sealion shows which were exceptional , there was a parrot show in which parrots do tricks and fly around ...

...me into a visit to Loro Park whilst on holiday in November. I was actually surprised as I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The Park was clean and well laid out and the staff exceptionally friendly. We paid for a guided tour (it was reasonably priced) and were taken behind the scenes to see, besides other things the Orca's, Dolphins and Gorilla's, which was not only entertaining but very informative. I was very impressed by the efforts ...

Advantages: Easy transport, free buses Disadvantages: Quite expensive for large family, resellers can give better price
Its not just parrots, there are many different animals and the dolphins are clearly very happy and enjoy performing. The weather is very good always. Expect to spend a whole day there, the food can be quite expensive on site, so sandwiches might be a good idea. The staff are \very helpful and seem to be determined to get the public involved. There are displays on all through the day, most are free - oh the parrots are good too - if you are into parrots! ...
