Advantages: Quiet, picturesque and relatively unspoiled. Year round sunshine. Disadvantages: Very hilly. Parking can be a problem. Maybe too quiet for some. Small beach.
...Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos, both of which are fairly teaming with nightclubs, high rise hotels, neon signage and fast food eateries. To be frank, Playa de la Americas is rather dirty and seedy looking in places - it's really seen better days. Los Cristianos (once a quiet and sleepy fishing village) is a little newer and shinier. However, both resorts are loud, brash and overcrowded. Yet if you are after a little bit of sunshine, then ... ...Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos put you off a trip to the south of the island. Quieter resorts can be found a little further up the coast. Los Gigantes (as well as neighbouring Playa de la Arena and Puerto Santiago) are all very nice and offer almost year round sunshine. We discovered the resort of Los Gigantes over 15 years ago now, and we pop back every few years or so, and invariably find that nothing has very much changed there at all. ...

WHERE?
Los Gigantes is situated on the sunny West coast of Tenerife. It has a fantastic all year round sunny climate owing to the island's close proximity to the West coast of Africa. During the British summer time, it's very hot! I've known it reach almost 40 degree Celsius in August. During the British winter I've experienced temperatures in Los Gigantes of anything between 18 and 25. Los Gigantes gets its name (The Giants) from the stunning cliffs ... ...GETTING THERE
Los Gigantes is about 40 kilometres from the airport in the South of the island, Reina Sofia. Charter flights fly on Tuesdays and Fridays from most UK airports and you can take a Monarch Scheduled flight from Manchester and Heathrow on any day of the week. Flights, of course, vary in price depending on how far in advance you book and the time of year. I've taken flights that have only cost £70 for a two week return and others have ...

Advantages: year round sun Disadvantages: nope, cant think of any!
Here is my review of Los Gigantes in Tenerife - as you can see, I quite like it!!!
My Experience:-
I have been here on holiday twice now.
The first time we stayed in an apartment in Los Gigantes (below, what was, The Royal Sun Apartments for those who know Los Gigantes) itself and the second time we rented a villa just up the road in Playa De La Arena (both of the properties have now been sold - sorry!)
The first holiday in the apartment it was ... ...- just simply amazing.
Los Gigantes is just a very little town in Tenerife and is by no means big!
Its closest neighbours are Playa de la Arena and Puerto de Santiago which all seem to role into one if you didn't know!
Los Gigantes:-
The town of Los Gigantes is named after the imposing cliffs, of which the town lies at the foot of, which have the same name. The cliffs also mark the southern boundary of the beautiful Teno mountains, which cover ...
