Lunn Poly is a travel agent that I have used for the last three years, and will use again this year for booking for annual holiday in the sun. My girlfriend and I are so impressed by the service that we receive that we use them every time. Every May I dream about going on one of those cheapo bargain breaks. You know the one I mean £99 for a week some where nice and hot. Well this year I decided sod the bank manager I'm going!!! I recently made a price comparison for hotels in Europe and Las Vegas USA. I was amazed by the results i found a big difference between the prices offered by the travel agents and by booking directly with the hotel company. This puts the case for need to book using travel agents and tour operators into perspective. 1 phone call to the Hotel Loren in Las Vegas was priced at $65. $65 in Pounds sterling is priced at approximately £32-£35. Ok i know ...
...transaction fees. However multiple searches using online sites showed the price to be in excess of £60 a night per person per room. So using a travel agency/tour operator for a 10 day stay would cost over £300 more than booking the accomodation directly with the supplier. Despite Lunn Poly's strange name, they really do have super staff. I was looking for a short break at very short notice and the lady at the branch bent over backwards phoning people and checking their computer to find me something suitable. She was able to find me a very nice long weekend in Bruges over Easter which I really enjoyed. As an AVCE Travel & Tourism student I have a wide knowledge on travel agencies. One of my assignments was to review 4 agencies and give them a score out of 100. I gave Lunn Poly 85. As soon as entering the shop I was greeted immediately, asked if i needed any help and was offered a seat and asked where I wanted to go. The agent offered me three brochures and seemed genuinely interested, making conversation between her phonecalls regarding my enquiry. ...
