...and flew from there to Luxor where we stayed at the isis 4 star b+b. This hotel is lovely it has beautiful gardens and sits on the bank of the nile it has two swimming pools, Our room was a suit with the best view possible. the staff are really nice here, and they looked after us the best we really did get spoiled here, we stayed here 9 nights it was great soon as you step foot outside the hotel you will hear "taxi taxi" and "Kalesh Kalesh" it didnt ...
...enjoyed Luxor the best I think it was because we got down with the locals, we would jump off and on the bus (it like a mini bus with the door jammed open) all you do is stick out your hand and tell them where your going and jump on it will cost you 25pestras about 12p. we had a great laugh on them the locals used to just laugh at us. I can easily say it's the worse place on the planet for Beggars, husslers, filty, smelly and very very noisy. As we've been to many other Arab countries over the last 10 years, we've always found people friendly, not in Luxor, they're so experienced at husstling they don't give up, No Thank you doesn't work, they argue and shout until you agree to buy what ever they're trying to sell you. ...had a lovely holiday in Luxor for 1 week, the only thing I found annoying there was that I couldnt walk around anywhere without being hassled alot. Getting dragged in shops and then being unable to leave without buying anything, usually something you dont want. Stayed at the Le Miridian, that started the trip for us and things only got better and better. Great food, great staff, clean friendly couldnt do enough. Found a driver who took us everywhere all the nooks and crannies that the tour operators didnt or wouldnt go. Hamdy Ahmed (hisam2002@yahoo.com). When agreeing on a price for Horse and cariagge rides be certain to acatain they are charging you in egyptian pound and not english ie. if they say 10 pound make sure its egyptian and not english. As many tourists at the end of a ride have been left embarresed and as they use the two currencies they are in there right to argue there case that they were talking about sterling.
