Advantages: Bring your own alcohol Disadvantages: Ocassionaly quite busy
...heading of a ‘Vegetarian’ restaurant, Maggie May’s actually serves plenty of meat, especially the hangover friendly Fry…
Situated on the busy Botanic Avenue, Maggie Mays is right beside The Empire, one of the cities best bars, nightclubs and live music venues, and is also just beside the large student area behind Queens University. Its about 15 minutes walk from the City Centre, and shouldn’t prove hard to find.
Maggie ... ...As for the food, Maggie Mays has an adequate selection, with plenty of vegetarian options, as well as the hangover Fry and fresh soup, fresh coffee as well as sweeter foods as well. The prices are very reasonable and a full Fry can be purchased for around £4 with Homemade Soup of the Day at about £1.95.
The Café also features a wide selection of local and national daily newspapers. ...

Advantages: It has the best hang over breakfast available Disadvantages: It can be very busy at some times of the Day
Named after a Rod Stewart song; this is one of my favourite restraunts/cafés and it can be found upon Botanic Avenue sandwiched between the notorious Kam Wah and the Convenient Centra. It's a warm, cosy, traditionally styled café that makes you feel really at home. As soon as you sit on one of the many wooden benches and begin to read one of the many papers on offer (one reason to visit) you instantly forget about the hustle and bustle outside. Then ... ...till an attractive waitress serves you.
Most of the food here is really tasty and filling: from the all day breakfast (complete with pancakes) to a gorgeous soup and sandwich. It definitely will leave you full and unable to leave.....
It's just so comfortable, relaxing and friendly (with interesting people) that I really don't find any drawbacks other than the price, which can be slightly expensive for us, the student population... but only slightly ...

Advantages: Food was fine Disadvantages: Incredibly rude staff
My friends and I have never been so badly treated in an eating establishment before. The waitresses were generally unpleasant, but one in particular was disgracefully rude, to the point of downright aggression at being asked to bring a cup she had forgotten to bring, to add a salad to and order and to bring the bill.
These are things that we had all taken for granted as being part of the service in any eatery, but clearly this particular waitress ... ...duty, and not included in her job description.
I and any of my friends (8 in total) have vowed never to eat there again. And on sharing our highly unpleasant experience with others have been told that many for the very same reason already boycott the establishment.
Absolutely disgraceful and a terrible experience ...

This is definitely the venue if you want tasty and delicious food and plenty of it. The portions are really generous and will probably appeal to starving students. Hence the location. Having eaten there both at lunchtime, mid afternoon and in the evening, I would reccomend allowing plenty of time as it gets extremely busy. That said, the noise level and somewhat cramped conditions do add to a very cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Absolutely not the place ... ...is only one extremely small unisex toilet which when I used it had a soaking wet floor . So the fastidious may want to try elsewhere. I am unable to forsee any circumstances, no matter how quiet, in which anyone whith a disability could manoever themselves between the tightly packed tables and a wheelchair user could not possibly use the toilet. ...

Advantages: Maggie Mays HAD some good memories. Disadvantages: We waited almost an hour to be told our order had been "forgotten."
Maggie Mays was until today a very special place - I must have been there a hundred times and even took my now partner there on our second date. But that changed today. We ordered our meal promptly on arrival and were given our drinks and cutlery. We then sat for between 45 minutes and an hour only to be told, after the staff stood about wispering at the counter for a while, that the waitress had never logged our food order! This is totally ridiculous ...
