    Advantages Advantages Manageable size, comfortable rooms, good service, excellent food and drink, value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Location is about as far from the Strip as you can get , no entertainment

    Las Vegas is a city which isn't renowned for preserving it's past. Anyone who loves the Rat Pack will have heard of the Desert Inn, Dunes, Stardust and Sands, but these legendary venues have been and gone - imploded to make way for ever bigger and supposedly better casinos, hotels and resorts. The last vestige of "old" Vegas is downtown, located to the north of the famous Strip, and here you will find smaller hotels and casinos which still retain a flavour of how Las Vegas was before it became the fastest growing city in America and also became totally homogenous as corporate America moved in ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good location, cheap.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Takes a while to get to the other end of 'the strip'

    This Hotel/Casino is just a 5 minute walk away from the heart of downtown Vegas. Its one of a small chain and has a much friendlier feel than the bigger hotels on the strip. Don't worry about being stuck downtown (at the end of the strip) because for $5 you can buy a 24 hour pass on the 'Deuce' strip bus to get to everywhere on the strip. The hotel itself is large by European standards with large rooms, some of which have no view to speak of, but are comfortable and clean. At the end of the day, you don't go to Vegas to sit in your hotel room - so clean and comfortable is all you need really ... more
