Advantages: easy parking, not far to walk with cases. Disadvantages: none
...travelling from Terminal 1 at Manchester Airport, the tip for the easiest parking and access to both departures and arrivals is to drive you car into the car park and go to the 9th level. Here you will find plenty of parking spaces and lifts that take you directly to arrivals and departures. Do not forget to take your parking ticket with you, you need to put it into the machines in the arrivals and departure halls - it tells you how much it wants ...

Advantages: Great Airport Disadvantages: Some Staff Seemed Rude
...Aircraft Not Clean.
General Comments
Manchester Airport is the one of the busiest airports I have ever been too. Traveling through airport - 2005
There for 6 of us travelling on Thomas cook flight. We arrived 1 hour early for check in, due to us never flying from Manchester we didn't no how long it would take to get there. At first however we couldn't find Thomas cook check in until a very helpful lady from the airport customer service came over ... ...2005:
Arrived back at Manchester on time de-bored aircraft and headed to the passport control. Despite it being 0300 there were still a full set of staff on and got through all most immediately. Bags came short after staff were there to help and then was on our way home at 0400 only an hour for bags and everything. Travelling back home:
2006
Arrived 15 minutes early back home. Staff still on at 0330 full at all desks. Bags were slower this year ...

...a very good standard, and Manchester is certainly one of the best.
It has definitely inproved itself over the past few years, now having 3 terminals, buses to take you to and from the car park, and an incresed number of shops and places to dine.
I discovered how good Manchester was when I recently flew to America.
The airport was very clean and the buses were very useful, especially after you have parked your car in the long stay carpark. Also ... ...confusing as their are more runways and more planes departing from Manchester.
It wasn't so easy to get to the airport for some people as the train tracks had been vandalised and emergency buses had to be used( I heard many people got quite frustrated with this). The planes were however on time.
Also around the airport their are trolleys for putting your luggage on, this can be expected at any arirport, but I found they are very easy to manovre ...

...M6,
If you are at Manchester Airport the chances are you are going on holiday. There is plenty to do at the airport to keep you occupied for the 2hours that you are meant to be there before your flight, after you have entered the departure lounge there is not that much to do, so if you know that you are going to be delayed don't go through to departures as you will not have enough to do to pass the time away.
The Airport is like a mini shopping ...

Advantages: great train link excellent customer services Disadvantages:
Living in the north Manchester is my local airport and having flown out from there on several occassions I can say its really great! The direct train link which runs from middlesborough via Leeds and huddersfield is excellent. You just get off the train and with in 5 minutes you are at the check in desk i would definetly recommend that you took the train the service is very regular runnig throw the night from Leeds. When you get of the train there ... ...to worry about lugging your 26 suitcases( I travel light!!)about. the customer services are excellent. When struggling with my baby and two big suitcases I got told off for not asking for help!! The range of shops and facilities is your usual airport stuff. This may be a big airport but its not forgotton about its customers! ...

Advantages: Good central location Disadvantages: none
...of its own motorway junction, Manchester Airport must have the best connections of any airport outside of Heathrow. The airport also has its own railway station with diretc connections to all the major cities in the north of England and connections via Manchester to the rest of the UK.
A second runway has just been built and this should ease delays, not that the delays at this airport are as bad as at some of the London airports. The airport has ... ...Airways flights. All are well layed out and surprising not at all sterile like other airports. All of them are full of shops and, if you cant get into the Trafford Centre then bring the family here to shop.
An excellent feature of the airport is the "Airport Viewing Park". This viewing area gives fantastic close up views of the aircraft as they take off and land and then taxi right past you. If you are waiting for a flight, or seeing someone fly ...

Advantages: Good facilities for all, very easy to reach. Disadvantages: Expensive (drinks and snacks)
...passed through many. Manchester Airport has 3 terminals, which are called 1, 2 and 3 amazingly enough. Terminal 1 is the oldest, with terminal 3 being the newest. Each Terminal offers many facilities such as car parks, cafe's, bars, many shops and duty free is available. When I have visited the airport has always been kept very clean and tidy. Watch out for the prices in the airport though as its not always the cheapest for drinks and snacks as with ... ...very recently this has made Manchester the 2nd biggest in the UK after Heathrow, and has won an many awards including Europes best Airport 2001.
The Airports is just off the M56 so is very easy to get to, also it is possible to get a train direct from Manchester Piccadilly. The tram doesn't yet go there but this is being planned for the future. THere are always taxis available outside the airport and a coach stop.
There are many check in desks ...

Manchester airport has quite a high opininon of itself. It is big but not satisfied with its current status. It wants to get even bigger and I am sure that, if it could, it would want to change its name to Heathrow.#
Why do I sound cynical? Well all that glitters is not gold. frankly, I have found the airport to be a bit of a mess and dirty looking. The staff do not look overly interested and it never seems that clear where and to whom you should ... ...really does require attention. How about Pret a Porter or something similar?
Big is not always beautiful and this airport leaves something to be desired. Just in case any Mancunians think I am being unfair I suppose I have yet to find an airport that I could really praise. ...

...i have to say about Manchester airport is that it has brillent parken facilities around 10,000 public parking spaces are currently available in our Short and Long Stay Car Parks Long Stay car parks are recommended for car-parking over 6 hours. Passengers departing from Terminals 1/3 are advised to park in Terminals 1 and 3 Long Stay Car Park, and passengers departing from Terminal 2 are advised to park in Terminal 2 Long Stay Car Park, at Manchester ... ...a brill idea.
In manchester airport there is Baby Care
In Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, baby change facilities are located mainly in the Ladies toilets. However, there is a facility situated in the International Arrivals Area that can be used by either parent.
In Terminal 2, baby change facilities are located next to selected Ladies and Gents toilets, for use by either parent. These facilities are clearly signposted in each terminal.

Advantages: Great place, loads to do, friendly staff Disadvantages: Can't actually think of any.......I suppose there could be a wider choice of eateries but I'm struggling to think of anything in particular.
Manchester airport is in the south of the city in the Wythenshawe area. It's really easily accessible and impossible to miss!! The shopping facilites are second to none although the choice of restaurants does leave a little to be desired. Aside from this it's hard to find fault with Manchester (Ringway) airport. Plenty of seating, facilities for children, lots of bars (!) and space while you're waiting for your plane. Unlike many other large airports, ... ...its size it seems small enough to navigate around and there are no pointless corridors whose only purpose seems to be to confuse all passengers as much as possible!
With three terminals, the only chance of getting seriously lost is if you hadn't read your ticket and went to the wrong one! (yes, I've done it!!) Even if this happens, its so easy to backtrack. The moving walkway between terminals one and two allows easy access between them. All in ...

Advantages: Excellent facilities, good travel links Disadvantages: Busy
...my while to travel to MANCHESTER to get a flight. A direct train service is available from Newcastle, Darlington, York etc, which helped tremendously. I'd heard a lot about Manchester airport, its too big, lots of walking involved, and I must admit I wasn't sure If I'd find exactly where I was meant to go. However it was excellent. I was flying with Airtours, who have their own check in lounge on the lower ground floor, and this enabled me to check ... ...There was not a lot of walking involved as moving walkways transport you over most of the long distances (train station to terminal, departure lounge to boarding gate). Even though my flight was delayed 3 hours, it wasn't to bad due to the excellent departure lounge, with bars, cafe's and shops aplenty, excellent bargains available too. The only downside was on my return when the baggage reclaim ended up like a cattle market due to the high number ...

Advantages: yes if you live north of Watford junction Disadvantages: not much to do
Manchester airport has big ideas or perhaps I should say grandiose plans for itself.
I think it is fair to say that it has developed in a purposeful way, despite arguments and protest from local residents living on the fringes, to become one of the major airports in the country. Its owners had a vision and the guts and wherewithal to put their money etc (well I do not suppose it was really theirs). aving done so one has to admire the way it has ... ...market.
Personally I do not like airports and Manchester has not changed my mind. However, if you live within a 50 mile ( and possibly further afield ) radius it does seem silly to travel to Heathrow, Gatwick etc when you can now get to most places from Manchester. ...

The airport in Manchester, is one of the easiest airports to navigate, of any of those I have ever visited. It is very easy to reach by train, with it having it's own rail station. The three terminals are all within easy access of the train station and there is no need to constantly walk outside to change terminals. Many of the larger walkways have floor escalators, which make it very easy to navigate. There is also in the airport a very good selection ...
