Marks and Spencer used to be the top notch of the department stores. Their undies were the height of fashion, and well made to boot. The problem is that today's Marks and Sparks has lost the edge it used to have. ...I always used to associate Marks and Sparks with being reasonably priced. However, recently I found that I was being decieved! Is it me or have their prices slowly crept up? Even so, I don't think you'll ever find yourself paying hugely over what you should when buying clothes in there. The Quality: I still find the quality excellent. I understand that Marks and Spencers are going downhill... Well it's a shame if a great High St institution is going downhill in such a manner but they are falling between two stools. If you want to and can drive there is the one at the Gemini Centre in Warrington. Marks and Spencers used to have a reputation for quality, which I think was fairly earned. However, perhaps with the exception of food and drink this no longer seems to be the case. I am not sure if the recent publicly aired woes are the cause or a symptom of this state of affairs. My memories of Marks and Spencers was going into Princes Street in Edinburgh and going to the big shop near the East End! Marks and Spencers were the 'IN' clothes to wear when I was younger and it was also where you were likely to get your school uniform!
