I have just spent a 3 week holiday in northern South Africa and Zambia. In South Africa I stayed at Mashovhela Lodge in the Soutpansberg mountains. What a stunning place - it is a nature reserve in the mountains - breathtaking scenery, indigenous forests, crystal clear streams and the sacred Mashovhela rock pool. It was an ideal place to explore Venda, a fascinating place filled with sacred lakes, waterfalls and forests all filled with spirits and great legends.
