    Advantages Advantages The old perfectly marries the new

    Disadvantages Disadvantages quite a bit of walking if it is hot.

    Rhodes town is divided into the new and the old town and both are well worth a visit. Rhodes town is on a main harbour and the site of the 'Collosus of Rhodes'; one of the famed seven wonders of the world, a statue of the greek god Helios said to be 110 feet high and made of bronze, proudly marking the entrance to the harbour until destroyed by an earthquake in 248BC. Facing the harbour you will find a huge choice of restaurants and cafes offering a wonderful range of Greek and European fayre, and the most deliscious cakes and pasteries.
