Advantages: Great Shopping Disadvantages: None for me
...inevitable that I will visit Merry Hill at least ten times because me and my Mom especially love it there. It is basically a massive shopping centre which is indoors so you don't have to worry about rain and you can spend hours looking around although it never seems busy for some reason. We choose Merry Hill every year for us to do our January sales shop too because there is so much on offer. Let me tell you why I love it so much!
Ok so where is ... ...Dudley you will find it. Merry Hill is signposted for miles away from where it is so you can't miss it. The car park is huge and you can always find a space and the best thing is that it is free to park there for as many hours as you like. By public transport you can get the metro to Dudley and then bus from there or you can get a bus link from Birmingham city centre. In all honesty though it is easier to drive to get there.
Ok so you get there ...

...I usually go to is Merry Hill in Dudley in the West Midlands. It is a massive shopping centre home to literally hundreds of brilliant shops where you can get anything from clothes to DVDs. Now if you are like me and literally cannot stand shopping on a regular basis, stay clear of this place, it will be your hell, however I must admit that it is a fantastic centre to go to in order to have a real shop. With me this is once a year, but I do come back ... ...you all the way to Merry Hill which is about another fifteen minutes away.
Merry Hill is a pleasant centre and is always clean when I go. There are lots of bins around for your trash and people walk around cleaning up, so it makes for a nice place to shop. The thing I always find great is that no matter how busy the centre can get it never seems claustrophobic or packed as many other shopping centres do. There are lots of plants around and the place ...

...a little review of the Merry Hill shopping centre, as it is a place which i visit almost every day, and i class it as my corner shop. I literally live within 5 minutes walk of the centre, and there's ALWAYS something that either myself or my girlfriend need to buy, so Merry Hill is always the place we go to get it.

Transport to Merry Hill can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes. The road system around the centre is continually being 'improved' due to its ever growing popularity, although the never-ending road works seem to cause constant traffic problems, especially at Christmas, where travelling in and out of Merry Hill can take hours. The public transport service isn't great, as the only way to get there is by bus, many of which stop running ...

Merry Hill is a big out of town shopping complex, just outside Dudley in the West Midlands. It was built on the site of former derelict factories and is signposted for miles around so you can’t miss it. There is plenty of car parking space, unless you’re daft enough to go just before Christmas of course, and then it gets VERY crowded indeed. It is also a good idea to avoid the area completely if you're not actually visiting Merry Hill as the roads do get very congested when Merry Hill is busy. There is a bus service from Dudley town centre to Merry Hill and further buses are laid on around the area near to Christmas. When you get there, there is also a free courtesy bus, which takes you around the site. There ...

Merry Hill shopping centre (Brierly Hill in West Midlands) is a must for everybody that likes shopping! It has all the shops you could possibly desire under one roof, ranging from department stores ( Marks and Spencers , Debenhams,BHS) to supermarkets, clothes shops, health stores you name it it will have it!

Parking at Merry Hill is free and the centre has electronic signs telling you if there are spaces in the car parks, which i find very helpful. There are also spaces for the disabled and designated areas for people with young children who have buggys, these spaces are very close to the centre.

...a lengthy Saturday afternoon at Merry Hill Shopping Centre. It's one of your typical out of town shopping malls - you know the sort of thing, all the standard department stores, all indoors, well laid out, difficult to find the places you want, hell to get parked. Given that that's the general description of most of this type of thing and they're all much of a muchness, I actually used to quite like going to Merry Hill on a Saturday.
It wasn't quite ... ...that was there - an enormous two floor jobby that has one of the widest ranges around.
If you're into this sort of thing, then check out Merry Hill (near Dudley, in the Black Country). If you don't like such things, steer weel clear, because you'll hate it. ...

Merry Hill is brilliant! As the former largest shopping mall in europe,Merry Hill has every shop you can think of. Such highstreet names as GAP, BHS, Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, Whsmiths and numerous well known girls shops (miss selfridge, jane norman to mention a couple)grace the mall in the heart of the black country in the midlands. The Merry Hill centre has 3 Mc Donalds, 2 Pizza Huts, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken aswell as a Harry Ramsdons fish and chip bar. Since the road system was changed a few years ago the traffic situation round the mall has got a lot better, but i would still advise to get the bus on saturdays or around christmas as the car parks get jammed packed. ...

The Merry Hill Shopping Centre is based in the middle of Dudley in the West Midlands in a town called Brierly Hill - hence the 'Hill' part of the name I assume.
Building started in 1985 with a small scattering of major stores such as ASDA and Alied Carpets soon followed by a B&Q and C&A.
20 years on the site covers a huge area, offers over 200 shops, 10000 free parking spaces and is a great place to socialise as well.

The centre has almost everything you would want from PCs to Groceries, and Pizzas to Makeup.

This shopping centre has everything you could possibly need, all under one roof. I hadn't been there since I was about 15, and I went last week with my mum, sister, boyfriend and daughter. There are a few cafes suitable for snacking or lunch while there, and they are reasonably priced, especially in comparison to some city centre restaurants and cafes. Advantages: none for the old age pensioner Disadvantages: not enough shops for the elderly
my recent visit to Merry Hill was spoiled immediately by having difficulty finding a parking space, walking in to the centre we were confronted with several smokers in entrance and obnoxious loud music being played throughout the malls. Although this may appeal to the younger person, it just annoys the older shopper.
The number of stores selling fashion items was amazing, what a pity there is no shops selling clothes suitable for the older age group, ... ...at all, it appears fashion, coffee shops and eating places have taken over. I attempted to purchase a mantle clock but was dismayed to find this item has virtually disappeared here. Next a visit to M and S for curtains was a disappointment, and I suggest that in order to view curtains they should be seen hanging. My advice is if you are over fifty do not go here to shop. ...
