Advantages: Roam freely in quite a moody volcano
Disadvantages: You may require brown pants!!!!

We visited Mount Etna in late September 2006 and it was well worth the money spent. There are two sites to visit from, Etna South (sud) or Etna North (nord) Our first visit was to Etna South and the road access is quite good as it has been recently rebuilt. Disadvantages: Risky because of the toxication possibility

As far that there is no adventurers review i have to write my experiance about my trip to Etna with my wife. We were by can on the island Sicili and first we have seen was Ethna. It was about 30 degrees down, clima was turned on and we have seen huge black - absolutely black mountain with snow! we visited mount Etna in August 2006 and had a lovely experience. we visited the north site. The landscape is like nothing you have ever seen before, just breathtakingly deserted and lunar-like se of volcanic rock. It can be quite tricky to get there via public transport but if you are travelling with a tour operator, it is more than likely that a trip to Etna will be organised.
