    Mrkonjic Grad is a fantastic town about an hour and a half's drive away from Banja Luka, I have visited it yearly since the war and it really is a nice place to visit. Do not be put off about the war that was some time ago now and things have changed significantly now. There is only one hotel and it is in the centre of town. There are more bars there per an inch, that drinking is not a problem in this town. There are lot's of good Cloths shops and cloths are quite cheep.     It seems a little ironic that all the places most written about in Bosnia are the views of British Squaddies!!!! Here's another for you! My partner and I both serve in Mrkonjic Grad in 1995-96. Despite the horrific pictures people see on the news Mrkonjic Grad is in fact a delightful small town. Its such a pity it has been depicted as such a dull place. There are lovely quaint hill side houses every where you go. Set in amongst rolling hills and lush forests.
