    *NOTE: MyTravel has merged with THomas Cook.* I and friends and family have now flown with Mytravel half a dozen times to and from Canada. I have just booked my 84-year-old mother to come to the UK next June. We always book through Canadian Affair online. The first thing to say is that the fares are incredibly low, as little as £199 or less return in economy. However, we always travel in their "Premiair Gold" cabin, because the economy seats are very cramped. Even then it is exceptionally good value.     After making the decision to go to Las Vegas for our summer holiday, my boyfriend and I set about looking for the best (and most convenient) flights available. To travel for a week in June we were looking the region of £500-£600 for direct flights with Virgin, BA et al, and even flights which included lengthy transfers were around £450.     MyTravel Airlines used to be called Airtours (and British Airtours before that), but was rebranded in 2002 after Airtours group was taken over by the MyTravel group. They are a charter airline that operate out of the UK, mainly to European and other short haul destinations. In January my partner and I travelled with them from London Gatwick to Las Palmas (Gran Canaria). We booked a late deal over the phone through Airtours and got our entire holiday for less than 200 quid each. An absolute bargain!     Ended up on MyTravel Airlines as a result of booking through Canadian Affair from Toronto to London. Checkin was not advertised ... had to march up and down the hall a couple times to find who was checking them in. Checkin was straightforward and as a seasoned air traveller, it was as it should be, even if the agents weren't the friendliest people in the world. Departure was delayed due to late arriving aircraft on the inbound flight from London. Boarding was a disaster because in spite of boarding by rows, people just swarmed the boarding area.     MyTravel Airways (MYT) is the new name for Airtours, a Manchester-based company that has provided holidays for many years. However now they're going bankrupt as they've found that by expanding, they've got too big for their own good by taking over any company they see fit. MYT was our choice to fly to Orlando, Florida last year. It was a lovely July day when we arrived at Manchester Airport, fresh from a stay at the Manchester Holiday Inn.     My in-laws live abroad (I know - lucky me) so I'm a seasoned Internet trawler when it comes to finding the best value flights. Lordy Lord did I get it wrong this year!! I spend considerable time looking for the best bargain and use several websites as standard which I compare daily, as well as looking for new sites to try. I thought I'd got a good deal this year, opting for My Travel flights via the cheapestflights website.     A short while ago, on our way home from what had been a fantastic holiday break, my boyfriend and I flew with MyTravel airlines. Overall, the experience was similar to most other airlines. IN my opinion, most airlines are much of a muchness (with the exception of the serious budget airlines). The check-in staff were friendly and helpful. The plane itself was standard; seats were not too comfortable, but for such low prices, what do you expect?     For one who has travelled throughout Europe by coach, including a 26 hour journey to former Yugoslavia, I was expecting my four and a half hour flight to Tenerife to be much more comfortable journey. How wrong I was! The tickets were booked by my partner's parents, so although I am not aware of the exact price that was paid for the tickets I know that they were fairly cheap in comparison to other airlines, although still more expensive than budget airline competitors such as EasyJet.     I was fortunate enough to fly on MyTravel Airlines from Gatwick to Rhodes in June. I have to say it was among one of the best airline experiences I have had. Check-in was efficient and moved quickly, even though it was a full flight. The flights were on time - both inbound and outbound - and we even arrived at our destination early both ways! I was in Economy Class, and the legroom may not have been extremely generous but was better than other Economy Classes that I've been in such as British Airways.     Excellent value for money. I liked the real time travel information on your personal screen in economy class. You also got to see the view from two cameras - front view and bottom view. The aerial views from the bottom cameara were excellent. The food was acceptable, but in my opinion all airlines offer rubbish inflight meals. The plane is big and spacious, but the legroom was limited for the cheapest seats. The inflight entertainment was good, service was fine and the flight was punctual.
