New York
==Intro==
This review started out as just one review, however it was getting into the 6000 word mark, so I decided to take out and edit the bits that went over 1000 words or so and am going to put them into separate reviews. Hopefully you enjoy the review, please take the time to rate and comment (if you can be bothered with either ) as it will be much appreciated. Thanks again for reading. ==Flying from UK to New York==

==Arriving In New York==
We arrived at JFK in New York about 12pm, due to my nan being disabled we got some assistance which meant we got through all of the queues very quickly which was great after such a long flight. The guy that pushed my nans wheelchair was brilliant, he included us all in conversation and told us all about what was happening in New York at that time. Getting a taxi out of the airport is very easy, you walk ...

...I always thought of New York as one of those places everyone should visit once. So when I was offered the chance of a weeks free accommodation in Brooklyn, I took the opportunity for my one off visit. I was fairly certain I wouldnt like the place enough to ever want to go there again. I dont like cities. And from what I had heard, New York epitomised everything I hate about cities. Noisy, stressful, tacky and very, very large. But I booked my ... ...I hate to admit it, New York proved me wrong. I loved it. I think part of the reason I enjoyed it so much was because I was shown round by some friends who lived there. So I am going to try to pass on some of the tips they gave me that made my stay so enjoyable. I will tell you about getting there and getting around, eating and drinking and my recommendations on what to do both during the daytime and the evening.

So we had to decide which price class to go for and which area to stay in. We looked into quite a lot of different hotels and guesthouses but in the end we booked a room at Hotel Thirty Thirty. This hotel might not be the most exciting hotel but when we travel to big city destinations ...

...already know I spent the New Year in New York, so I thought it might be nice to share my experiences with you all, so here is my guide to the Big Apple.
It’s a very tall city, much taller than I imagined it to be, as many of you will no doubt be aware it has been the setting for many films and a few Drama’s also including Friend’s, Will and Grace, Sex In The City, I was hoping to see one or two famous faces in and around New York ... ...tall buildings in and around New York itself, you actually need to be following a map or directions of some sort. We arrived at The Empire State Building late morning only to be told that there would be a waiting time of approximately two hours, we were slightly disappointed but figured that as we were already there, we might as well hang around. Once inside there was a queue of about one hour to actually buy the tickets, the building was hot but ...

The island city of New York is, with a population of around eight million, the largest city in the United States. It is divided into five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island. It is one of the most beguiling places there is; life goes on at an incredible pace and one could even describe it as the epitome of everything that's wrong with America. However, spend a week here and the initial shock gives way to myth. The moment ... ...did establish the Dutch colony, New Amsterdam, which would slowly evolve into New York City. In 1626 the Dutch bought the entire of Manhattan Island from some native Indians for what would now be about $25. It was fortified over the next century, with a large wall running it's course along present day Wall Street. By 1790 its population had reached 30,000. Trade was opened to the Midwest by the Erie Canal, and the first wave of large-scale immigration ...

...that even though I have New York in my username, because I love the city with a passion, I have yet to write a review about it. So here it is!
I have wanted to go to New York for as long as I can possibly remember. I think it may stem from watching lots of American films when I was a youngster (such as Home Alone) that centred around New York, particularly at Christmas time when it showed the big Christmas tree at Times Square etc.
I was lucky ... ...while they were lovely holidays, New York, or America for that fact, was never on the cards as a destination as nobody else in my family wanted to go there. So, it was always a case of 'when you're old enough you can go!'.
However, then when I was 'old enough' I didn't have the money as New York can be quite expensive (if done properly!).
Then, one rainy, cold day, just before Christmas, my boyfriend of almost two years, told me he wanted to go ...

Anyone who's ever been will tell you that New York is absolutely and utterly unique. Nowhere else even comes close. I had read that the area known as Ground Zero, where the twin towers once stood, had become a place of weird holiday where vendors sold tacky T-shirts commemorating the event, so it was with some trepidation that we set off to see what we could see. The World Trade Centre, for those unfamiliar with Manhattan, stood at the bottom left hand corner of the island, not far from Wall Street. Built in the nineteen sixties, ...

When I first wrote about New York some 13 months ago, it was subsequent to a 5-day break over the New Year of 2002/2003, so the whole thing had an air of New York as a New Year destination. Now that Ive been there twice, having got back today from a 5-day February half-term break, Ive decided to add in my new experiences, to make this more of a city guide, rather than a what I did over New Year holiday diary (even if it did get a diamond!)

Most people who visit New York love the experience, but their wallets love the experience less so. Having experienced the charme of New York as both a tourist and a 'local', I would like to give some suggestions of fun things to do in New York without having to remortage your house at the end of your vacation. I first visited New York in late November, early December of 2001, after a very cramped seven and a half hour flight a group of friends and myself finally landed at Newark airport in new Jersey, you could see straight away how nice and clean and welcoming it was going to be, and it only took 20 minutes to get to our hotel in new Jersey from the airport. The Quality inn at Newark is very reasonable and easy to get to the city, about a 40 minute ... ...Gershwin, Broadway (of course), Ambassador, New Amsterdam, New Victory, just to name a few. These are showing different shows every night and is quite reasonable to get tickets for. I first went to New York in 1996, as an impoverished student and had decided to spend my student loan for my final year on a 'voyage' to the Big Apple and DC. Arriving in New York City in 1996, the immigration guard took a keen interest in what I was studying, (American Studies) and proceeded to get into a discussion about whether I would be supporting Clinton or Bob Dole in that year's presidential election. I actually thought it was a trick question- say anything against their mighty leader and I might be on the next BA 747 back to Blighty. So I said I thought Clinton was great. They let ...
