Advantages: loads too see, exciting Disadvantages: can be a bit too big and noisy
...a brilliant four days in New York. It’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to go and can’t quite believe that I was there! It’s a huge, slightly maniac place that to begin with we found a bit overwhelming because of it’s size and activity. We felt a bit like yokels thinking ‘ooh isn’t the big city big’.
New York has been the setting for so many films and a lot of my favourite TV shows (Friends, Will and Grace, Sex in the City), that it was all strangely ...

New York is so damn amazing that my trip went past like a blur. The whole city is TALL - really - and I'd have to say this was is my favourite city. Sadly, I could only spend five nights in NYC, but I got a lot of stuff done, so here's my guide to the big apple.
Times Square
Make this a top priority. It's so fabulously chaotic, and the massive video screens (which adorn every building BY LAW) are funky. ABC studios is here, and they broadcast ...

...will be true forever – New York is a city that doesn’t sleep.
It was a hot summer day two years ago, when I first came to New York City. I was coming by car from New Jersey, and still being miles (and a two hours car ride) away, I first saw Manhattans impressing skyline with the Twin Towers literally scraping the sky.
Two years later, we all feel that there is something missing in New York’s skyline. But though the World Trade ...

...time you see the majestic New York sky-line. Unusually me and my family drove into New York city as part of a tour of the East Coast of the USA last summer, and from around 20 miles away you cannot help but gaze at the world's most famous city. For those of you who will fly straight in and out, you will not experience this amazement, but the sheer wonder of staying in Manhattan is a once in a lifetime experience that should not be missed.
I stayed ...

...Marlon Brando-esque gangster in sight, New York City has dismissed its image as being a seedy hotspot for the poor and Sicilians alike. In fact nowadays, New York is considered the place on Earth for business, entertainment and luxury. All of these attributes are squeezed into Manhattan, an island in the middle of the Hudson River, only 13 miles long and 2 miles wide. The surrounding areas of Queens, Brooklyn, The Bronx and Staten Island each have ...

...that doesn't happen very often. New York is one of those dream destinations that everyone wants to go to, or has already been to. The city is the centre of our world, financial and culturally, it even has its fair share of history.
With nothing more than photos to go on, I had to really try and understand the layout of the island (Manhattan), and annotate my day around a tourist map. Only going for a meeting my dad attended, time was limited, and ...

Hence, New York is a destination I would recommend to any traveller or tourist alike. In spite of what people often think, we have here an example of a city that bases itself on the twin concepts of fun and hard work; it is a city that lays down standards that the world copies; ...

...so much so say about New York so I’ll start at the beginning. Last September me and a group of friends decided to do a tour of North-East America (Manhattan, Niagara Falls, Toronto then Miami). We booked the holiday ourselves as it worked out sooo much cheaper than through brochures. Our trip was 14 days in total and total price for hotel and flights (flying from Birmingham which is more expensive than Birmingham) was under £1,000. Now, if you ...

`MACY`S` here we come. God, it was bloody huge. We shopped for England (you would have been proud of us) and trust me, I hate shopping. Due to the time of year we went, most stores had their xmas decorations up and it was very pretty.
The thing you have to watch out for when you are shopping is the added tax on you purchases, this caught us off guard. Also you have to be 21 to get a drink, which my daughter ...

New york City has a lot to offer. Most people think of the city as the island of Manhattan but there is so much more to it. Manhattan happens to be just one of the five boroughs of NY. There is so much I could tell you of all of NYC. I will tell you about Manhattan, the place most people refer to as New York.
New York was the first of the cities to have the world record sky scrapers. The first was the Woolworth Building. It was soon shadowed by ...

I visited new York last year as part of a college trip. It was one of the most memorable times of my life and has stayed with me ever since. If you can overcome the six hour flight, then there is much to be explored in the "city that never sleeps", and that is certainly not an understatement. People just keep on going right through the night.
My visit lasted for one week, plenty of time to see all that this city has to offer. Of course you have ...
