Advantages: Beautiful buildings, lots to do, cheap

New York. Everyone knows about it, everyone has their own opinion of it, but here's mine: I've been to New York about 8 times now, and I'm due to be going again for a long weekend in 2 weeks time as a sort of post-21st birthday celebration. Advantages: Good place to go
Disadvantages: 7 hour flight

...returned from a holiday in New York. I stayed with an old school friend in Queens & he had been living there a few months with obviously gave me a bonus on the clubbing front - bit of inside info! First thing to do when you get there is grab a copy of Time out & all the other club papers. New York is jam packed with clubs, restaurants bars etc a bit like London so plenty to choose from! Advantages: Plenty to do for all budgets
Disadvantages: Be aware of your safety, and know where you are going and how to get back.

I would begin by having cocktails in the Rainbow Rooms at the top of the Rockefellar Plaza, fabulous views as seen in 'Sleepless in Seattle' etc, BUT make you you are dressed in your very best, I got turned away for wearing shorts OOps! They were smart shorts! Disadvantages: Crime of course, but what city doesn't have crime!?!?!?

...really make you realise why New York City is the best town around - you make think London is a 24/7 pleasuredome, but think again because New York makes the UK capital look like a provincial little town! Disadvantages: Sensitivity may be hurt

...in tax-sponsored art exhibits in New York musueum. No one seems to forget his statements about year 2000's exhibit by a Nigerian-born artist. It was the famous elephant dung-decorated painting portraying Virgin Mary. This year, the Museum of Art opened a show with a photograph showing Jesus as a naked woman. Advantages: A great city
Disadvantages:

New York is an extreamly active city 24/7. New York is one of those citys which most people would not want to live in, but would want to visit at some piont in their lives, i now i did. New York is truly a mad, mad place where nobody is crazy! In my five days there, I encountered all sorts of crazy folk there, but no-one else played a blind bit of attention to them. One such person was a guy who seemed to ride the subway all day, getting men to get off their seats and give them up for women, even when there were free seats all over the place. Disadvantages: extremes of temperature, can be very busy :)

New York has to be one of our all-time favourite places, Manhattan is now considered so safe that an inflight magazine described it as like a "corner of Sesame Street"! It may be as safe, but it's *certainly* a lot more exciting. New York has everything, from quiet parks and stunning views to as much hustle and bustle as you can handle. Disadvantages: Noisy, smelly, crowded, expensive

New York is a great site, so full of interest.Sights such as the Empire State building, The World trade Centre, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, The United Nations Building, Central Park, The Rockefeller centre, Times Square by night etc really do have to be seen to be believed. Like any major City, however, some care is needed by visitors. Choose a hotel in central Manhattan. Be very observant in Central Park, and dont have cameras or valuables ... Read review

Advantages: food, diveristy, stuff to do
Disadvantages: expensive! Scary people.

I went to New York for a mere amount of 3 days and 2 nights. And it was more than enough time for me to spend there. I was visiting with my mother, my dad, my 11 year old little brother and my 17 year old little sister. When we stepped off the plane, immediately we were met with glares and scowls and thick broklyn accents.
