Never again! Review ofNorbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpoolby
SusanLesley
Advantages: We didn't have to pay - it was a prize Disadvantages: Bad service, poor rooms, dangerous wiring etc
...read an opinion on the Norbreck Castle Hotel at Blackpool I realised that we weren’t the only people to be very disappointed with the place so I thought I’d let you know our experience of the place.
First of all I will tell you a bit about the place.
It is situated on the seafront at the far northern end of the promenade at Blackpool, so it is well out of town, which is great if you like to be away from the noise and commercialisation that is ...

...it means that places like Norbreck Castle Hotel need to come across as even more attractive if they want to woo a percentage of Blackpools intake, and by making the prices as a cheap as possible in such a respect. It is this reason why I am so inclined to kick this place.
On a positive note, you may be forgiven for saying that Norbreck Castle Hotel is relatively cheap for a large hotel (just cross the road and have a gander at how much the Hilton ...

Advantages: Out of the town Disadvantages: Too many people!
I'm glad that I did not get to read any of the reviews before I went to this hotel, or see the Holidays from Hell programme the night before!
The hotel can be found along the seafront, about three miles from the main centre of Blackpool, heading out towards Fleetwood. It is now under the Britannia hotels group and it is easily accessible by tram and bus. We used the trams the whole time instead of me driving all the time.
My husband, my two ...

My wife had booked the hotel because it looked really decent on checking in. Well let me guide you throught the experience:
Checking in at reception:
This was actually ok, the staff were very friendly and the main reception looked really clean and organised. We checked in and booked the dinner sitting for £12.50 per ...

Advantages: None Disadvantages: try no windows or natural light in rooms for one thing!
Firsty my partner who for a living visits the best 4* and 5* hotels all over the UK as either the guest of the hotel group or the local tourist board as she brings Russians to the UK to spend some of that money they make from oil. 9/10 times although invited to an area, she actually goes and makes the visit unannounced as a paying customer. Blackpool tourist board invited her to come to Blackpool as they thought her client group would want to come ...

...Holidays and were given The Norbreck Castle as a dwelling place! I got onto the net and couldn't believe my luck when I was presented with beautiful pictures of a fantastic castle with amazing facilities! We travelled down on the coach looking forward to our stay at this amazing castle!
The coach arrived and my jaw quite simply hit the floor. It looks like an eastern european prison. The driver on the coach then announced, "Oh, and by the way folks, ...

...ray of sunshine to the Norbreck Castle. You usually get a cheery greeting, but it doesnt really help too much when you do see the state of your expensive room.
I must say also that now the gym has be refurbished, this is one of the enhanced features. The pool isnt very big, but it does look quite stylish and relaxing.
Prices at the norbreck castle start from £30 per night for the little single box rooms in low season (any time that isnt christmas, ...

...two-night weekend break at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool through National Coach Holidays on 19 November 2004. The brochure described the break as being ‘All inclusive’ and we looked forward to fact that we would be able to drink copious amounts of alcohol for free (and why not!).
We paid £89.00 for two night’s dinner, bed and breakfast with drinks also included from 7.30pm – 10.30pm in one of the three bars in the hotel.

Not that Bad Review ofNorbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpoolby

Advantages: Cheap Beer, Good Entertainment for older people Disadvantages: Far away from centre, Too orientated on older people
I went to the Norbreck Castle hotel with my boyfriend for a cheap holiday before we depart ways for university. When we arrived the receptionist who was a youngish man with a sty above his eye, told us that we hadnt booked in through the system and that the printed out details from a email was only a garauntee not a confirmation. We told him that the money had been taken out of my boyfriends mums account and so it was more than a garauntee.
He ...

Advantages: Being able to warn potential inmates to avoid the place! Disadvantages: Having wasted an hour of our holiday there
We made the terrible mistake of not reading the (mostly) accurate disparaging reviews of this awful hotel and booking a 3 night stay there at the last minute.
Once we had waited an hour for the check-in queue to die down we were allocated a room right next to the extractor fans of the attached bar. When we asked for a replacement the next room was also next to hotel aircon fans (with the place being almost full we must have been given the "in desperation" ...

...of us have used the Norbreck Hotel. 2 carers and 2 disabled service users, and we can't fault the hotel at all, apart fromt he first time where centre booking had forgot to bok us into the disabled rooms, but since it was an over night stay we coped as best we could.
This time we all went from the Saturday to the Monday.
Now personally I couldn't fault the hotel, after all its a place to lay your head after being out all day, and the staff are ...

...impossible to find on the norbreck website. I honestly feel the only reason this hotel is still there, is the massive events it stages, in its conference facilities, and people will pay for the convenience. Will I go back.............I'd like to say no.....but......if the event goes back there I may, but at least I will know what to expect this time, and will certainly not book any extra days like i did this time. ...

Advantages: the food was really good Disadvantages: too many!!
Myself and my family stayed at the Norbeck last week. The hotel was under alot of construction work for the high season period, non of which was mentioned whilst booking. We stayed there for 2 nights, and they were the worst 2 nights we have ever had.... The temperature throughout the building was soooo hot, we sat at dinner exhausted from the heat looking around at everyones red faces. The nights were unbearable so I soaked towels to cover the untouchable ...
