A Castle Fit For A King And Queen

DisadvantagesNone I can think of.

"---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introduction ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Norbreck Castle Hotel has been in Blackpool a long time. I have been lucky enough to go to this hotel on several occasions and for many different reasons. Every occasion I have been to this hotel I have good and pleasant memories of it. Never again!

AdvantagesWe didn't have to pay - it was a prize

DisadvantagesBad service, poor rooms, dangerous wiring etc

"...read an opinion on the Norbreck Castle Hotel at Blackpool I realised that we weren’t the only people to be very disappointed with the place so I thought I’d let you know our experience of the place. First of all I will tell you a bit about the place. It is situated on the seafront at the far northern end of the promenade at Blackpool, so it is well out of town, which is great if you like to be away from the noise and commercialisation that is ..." Never Again

AdvantagesNo advantages at all!!!!!!!

DisadvantagesEverything about this hotel is a disadvantage.

"...here. I visited the Norbreck 33 years ago when I was a child and remember it being amazing and all the photo's on their website made me think it was still an amazing place to stay, how wrong can you be!!!!!!! The outside of the hotel was old and in need of some extreme TLC and there was no parking spaces left so straight away disappointment was setting in. When we went into reception it looked a little better, as we stood waiting to check in there ..." Read review

Proof That Bigger Doesn't Necesarily Mean Better

AdvantagesLooks great from the outside

DisadvantagesEverything on the inside

"...it means that places like Norbreck Castle Hotel need to come across as even more attractive if they want to woo a percentage of Blackpools intake, and by making the prices as a cheap as possible in such a respect. It is this reason why I am so inclined to kick this place. On a positive note, you may be forgiven for saying that Norbreck Castle Hotel is relatively cheap for a large hotel (just cross the road and have a gander at how much the Hilton ..." Read review

Can't wait to return

AdvantagesLocation

DisadvantagesNone

"...spent one night at the Norbreck Castle Hotel and travelled with National Holidays. My partner and I paid £55 each which included your coach travel, room, breakfast, evening meal and also 4 free drinks vouchers. Firstly we got picked up from the allocated bus stop at around 7.20 on the Sunday morning. We then done various pick ups and made our first rest stop at around 10.30am at a place called Tebay Service Station. We stayed there for around 45 ..." Read review

Norbreck Castle Hotel

AdvantagesOut of the town

DisadvantagesToo many people!

"I'm glad that I did not get to read any of the reviews before I went to this hotel, or see the Holidays from Hell programme the night before! The hotel can be found along the seafront, about three miles from the main centre of Blackpool, heading out towards Fleetwood. It is now under the Britannia hotels group and it is easily accessible by tram and bus. We used the trams the whole time instead of me driving all the time. My husband, my two ..." Read review

Fawlty towers deserves 5 * after this

Advantagesit is a roof over your head

DisadvantagesThe whole Hotel

"We went to blackpool to meet the father in law and brother in law for the weekend with the kids one 7 months and 1 3 years old. My wife had booked the hotel because it looked really decent on checking in. Well let me guide you throught the experience: Checking in at reception: This was actually ok, the staff were very friendly and the main reception looked really clean and organised. We checked in and booked the dinner sitting for £12.50 per ..." Read review

My partner is a hotel inspector and we walked!

AdvantagesNone

Disadvantagestry no windows or natural light in rooms for one thing!

"Firsty my partner who for a living visits the best 4* and 5* hotels all over the UK as either the guest of the hotel group or the local tourist board as she brings Russians to the UK to spend some of that money they make from oil. 9/10 times although invited to an area, she actually goes and makes the visit unannounced as a paying customer. Blackpool tourist board invited her to come to Blackpool as they thought her client group would want to come ..." Read review

Norbreck Castle Hotel - Armish Paradise

AdvantagesIt has 18 wheeler in the arcade!

DisadvantagesIt has secret communes of people hidden away...

"...Holidays and were given The Norbreck Castle as a dwelling place! I got onto the net and couldn't believe my luck when I was presented with beautiful pictures of a fantastic castle with amazing facilities! We travelled down on the coach looking forward to our stay at this amazing castle! The coach arrived and my jaw quite simply hit the floor. It looks like an eastern european prison. The driver on the coach then announced, "Oh, and by the way folks, ..." Read review

Norbreck... what now?

AdvantagesFamily friendly, quiet

Disadvantagesnot that good value for money

"...ray of sunshine to the Norbreck Castle. You usually get a cheery greeting, but it doesnt really help too much when you do see the state of your expensive room. I must say also that now the gym has be refurbished, this is one of the enhanced features. The pool isnt very big, but it does look quite stylish and relaxing. Prices at the norbreck castle start from £30 per night for the little single box rooms in low season (any time that isnt christmas, ..." Read review

Norbreck Castle Hotel - Blackpool

AdvantagesLate bar and all you can eat food

DisadvantagesToo far to the town

"...two-night weekend break at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool through National Coach Holidays on 19 November 2004. The brochure described the break as being ‘All inclusive’ and we looked forward to fact that we would be able to drink copious amounts of alcohol for free (and why not!). We paid £89.00 for two night’s dinner, bed and breakfast with drinks also included from 7.30pm – 10.30pm in one of the three bars in the hotel. When we arrived ..." Read review

Not that Bad

AdvantagesCheap Beer, Good Entertainment for older people

DisadvantagesFar away from centre, Too orientated on older people

"I went to the Norbreck Castle hotel with my boyfriend for a cheap holiday before we depart ways for university. When we arrived the receptionist who was a youngish man with a sty above his eye, told us that we hadnt booked in through the system and that the printed out details from a email was only a garauntee not a confirmation. We told him that the money had been taken out of my boyfriends mums account and so it was more than a garauntee. He ..." Read review

Avoid like the plague!

AdvantagesBeing able to warn potential inmates to avoid the place!

DisadvantagesHaving wasted an hour of our holiday there

"We made the terrible mistake of not reading the (mostly) accurate disparaging reviews of this awful hotel and booking a 3 night stay there at the last minute. Once we had waited an hour for the check-in queue to die down we were allocated a room right next to the extractor fans of the attached bar. When we asked for a replacement the next room was also next to hotel aircon fans (with the place being almost full we must have been given the "in desperation" ..." Read review

Norbreck ( spelt COLDITZ ) Castle Hotel

AdvantagesThe Entertainment

Disadvantagescost , view, bar prices, poor food, guests treated like cattle

"Expecting a weekend of good food, entertaiment and luxury accommodation-- what a let down! Firstly, the good parts. The entertainment was excellent: the hotel ballroom tastefully decorated and clean. No problems there. Now the bad parts. On reaching our room, we found that although the outside temperature was only 4degrees, the radiators in all the rooms were turned off and the windows open. Although we had booked a double room, expecting just ..." Read review
