Advantages Advantages Price, station location, popular late bar

Disadvantages Disadvantages Packed with smokers, Modern plastic feel

If you imagine that hotel chains can be like food chains, the Novotel group would hover somewhere around McDonalds in terms of its ethos and approach. I've stayed in one or two over my time, including those located in London and France, and the occasion in Leeds left me without any illusions. Overall, Novotels hover around the 3/4-star mark, with facilities usually pushing them into the 4-star category. However, I reckon that once you take the quality of what's being provided into account, the experience is definitely more basic. In fact, the Novotel chain is doing its own bit to push 3-star ... more

Advantages Advantages Great location and good value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Parking!

I stayed at the Novotel Leeds in for a weekend in April. We went basically just to have a change of scene and night out somewhere different. When it comes to Novotels I tend to think they are all much of a muchness and you know what to expect. However, I was quite impressed by this Novotel. It seemed a bit more modern and well kept and of better standard than other Novotels I've been to. Rooms - Rooms were clean and basic with everything you would expect eg tv, tea and coffee facilities etc. and the beds were comfy! The walls were quite thin and I think a lot of people had the same idea as us ... more

Advantages Advantages good central location with free parking

    Disadvantages Disadvantages busy

We spent one night here for Mr Kazbo's birthday so we could go to his favourite restaurant and not have to drive home. The Novotel is in a great location, right in the centre of Leeds by the new Quays complex. Driving there was a bit of a problem because 1) Leeds is so busy, 2) we were going round a one-way system and the hotel was on the other side of the road 3) the car park is not well-signposted. (Car parking is a problem in Leeds and they obviously don't want everyone to know where their residents car park is) Once inside the hotel, things improved. The reception desk was busy but staff ... more

Advantages Advantages Decent room, clean, near train station

Disadvantages Disadvantages Costs more than it should for a 3* in Leeds imo

I've stayed at the Novotel in Leeds a couple of times so far and it wouldn't be awful if I had to stay there again. My issue with the Novotel is value for money. It does not provide good value for money, not in the slightest. If you book through Novotel, I believe it costs in the region of £120 for a double should you request a room on arrival. Otherwise it is perhaps a little cheaper through their website but personally I've always booked through a third party site when staying there, costing £80-£90 per night. My first issue with this is this is a 3* hotel in Leeds. Granted it is near the ... more
