Novotel Leeds Centre, Leeds

...be like food chains, the Novotel group would hover somewhere around McDonalds in terms of its ethos and approach. I've stayed in one or two over my time, including those located in London and France, and the occasion in Leeds left me without any illusions. My work apartment access key had been left at home in London and cue realisation of this after office hours, when nowt could be done about it, because no-one has access to anything unless it's phone numbers for emergency plumbers and the like. I stayed at the Novotel Leeds in for a weekend in April. We went basically just to have a change of scene and night out somewhere different. When it comes to Novotels I tend to think they are all much of a muchness and you know what to expect. However, I was quite impressed by this Novotel. ...have to drive home. The Novotel is in a great location, right in the centre of Leeds by the new Quays complex. Driving there was a bit of a problem because 1) Leeds is so busy, 2) we were going round a one-way system and the hotel was on the other side of the road 3) the car park is not well-signposted.
