Advantages: Modern, Quality, Style and piece of mind Disadvantages: Some of the Staff
Novotel - had a birthday party to go to in Milton Keynes recently. The person who's birthday it was put forward four hotels to stay in. I looked on the net at the hotels that were put forward, just to see what the hotels were like and what they offered. I like a bit of quality and don't like slumming it. My bed is very important to me people.
After viewing all the hotels that were on offer I was not pleased by what I saw the only half decent looking ... ...by the Accor Business & Leisure Hotels Group. This particular hotel looked half decent on the internet and for £65.00 seemed ok. This included a double bed so my girlfriend could come along as well (oh I know what your thinking!) and breakfast.
When the day had arrived to go to the event the hotel was really easy to find just off the M1 junction 14 and follow the A509 towards Milton Keynes town centre just past the MK one shopping centre, how convient ...

Advantages: Very clean. Large spacious rooms with sofa. Well decorated. Pool and sauna. Huge bed. Very friendly bar staff. Great food. Disadvantages: Advertised on website that they are a mile from Milton Keynes station. Considerably longer. Needed to get a cab. Small towels. Tricksy pay to view. No mini bar. Odd little cupboard toilet. Tiny towels. Poor reception staff. Pool closed by 11pm.
I needed to spend a night in Milton Keynes as my wife and I were travelling up from London to see a show at the theatre then going further north the next morning. Manage to get quite a good deal at lastminute.com, only £49.00 for one night, based on a room only fee.
After a hectic journey up to Milton Keynes by coach due to rail engineering I was disappointed to find that the hotel is not within walking distance from the station, even though it ... ...a cab depending whether you are travelling from the city centre or the station. The hotel seems quite modern, pretty characterless from the outside as most business hotels seem to be. The foyer was large and open plan, leading on to the bar and restaurant to the right. It didn't seems very disabled friendly as even one had to walk up a few steps to even get to the ground floor rooms.
Check in went smoothly although I agree with the other review ...

Advantages: very comfortable and friendly place to stay Disadvantages: expensive food in the restaurant
I went to this hotel the weekend before Valentines Day with my partner and we had a wonderful time. We were very well-looked after in the hotel by the staff. We walked into the rom and was amazed by what we saw as there was a kingsize bed, a tv, a sofa bed, a bathroom and toilet and other great facilities. At night the bedroom was nice and comfy to sleep in with curtains that blocked out loads of light. If you do choose to go to this hotel make sure ... ...pool and the sauna room. There is also a gym and other great facilities. The Hotel is 5 minutes away from all local ammenities, but having a car in this area is a must as it is just off a dual carriageway. the shopping centre and restaurants are absolutely fantastic as it makes a nice day out for all the familyn to enjoy. ...
