Advantages: Lovely interiors (foyer & auditorium) and good all round presentation Disadvantages: They have better sound technology installed, they need to USE it.
...corner of the square) the Odeon oozes modern style, and is the flagship cinema in their chain! Recently refurbished in time for the Summer 98 release of Armageddon, this cinema has a lot to offer!
My only complaint with this cinema is perhaps it is too big for its own good. Again, like the Empire, this is a cinema with the latest in cinema audio technology, yet fails to make decent use of it for the most part of the time resorting to showing most ... ...You will also find the Odeon is one of the few cinemas in the UK to debut the odd film on the new DLP (digital light projection) technology. Personally, I am not in favour of digital projection, but that said, kudos to the cinema for keeping up with the times and showing off new technology...Just wish they would do the same for the sound (SDDS dag nabit.....USE IT!)
On a side note, sit upstairs. Yes the tickets will me more expensive, but the seats ...

Advantages: Huge, fresh, great Disadvantages: Cost

It was refitted a little while ago and now has Leopard Skin seats and boasts the largest screen in the country although i can't work out if it is screen area or cinema capacity. The beverages are as standard in any cinema and food likewise. The service is excellent and the staff really take pride in the work. To ... ...coms into use during very busy periods. The price is roughly on par with other cinemas in Leicester Square and is more than worth it. You will be looking at about 8-10 pounds for a film. Greta, modern, fresh cinema that is very powerful. Oh- the cinema has an upper circle (two floors) as well for one screen - wow.! ...

Advantages: good atmosphere, state of art sound Disadvantages: expensive tickets
The Odeon Leicester Square is Europe's biggest cinema and world famous. It has the highest seating capacity in the UK (2000 seats), but the Empire Leicester Square does have a biiger screen area. This theatre is equipped with Dolby Digital EX, DTS-ES and SDDS 8 channel sound. It also has DLP (digital light projection) film projectors. I have heard films in Dolby and SDDS 8 in this theatre and they all sounded amazing. The last film I saw was Terminator ... ...and sounded ace in 8 channel SDDS. When the cinema is full there is an amazing atmosphere, its like being at a real play. There is also an organist that appears from below the screen at weekends. The best place to sit is upstairs, the seats are comfy, but offer little leg room. This is a cinema I go to when I want to see the really big films, then it just makes the film even more special. ...
